    I don’t disagree with you. I think most recognize the tragic-ness of the situation, while still thinking rostering him on the playoff roster isn’t the best thing for the Twins. If he can truly play, that would be awesome, but the probability of that does not look good. Recognizing the probable limitations isn’t being negative. However, when posters go out of their way to attack character as the poster did two above yours, yes, that’s negative. While it’s an opinion, it was uncalled for, imo. Suggesting that Buxton was making demands and simply choosing not to play, implying something nefarious in his behavior … I think not only is that negative, but also incredibly mean-spirited and ugly, and obviously from one who didn’t read the entire article but just spouting a long-held opinion about the character of someone none of us knows personally.

    This is always a point of discussion with many on this board. I can see both sides. It's always playing the 'what if' game either way. But how it was last night I thought was exactly the right call.

    Next season, sure. But how Ober was handled this year, I think was absolutely right, despite the calls this year to push him more.

    I said this in the game thread but I feel better about our BP now than I ever have all season long. But … ‘adjust to their roles’ … still some iffiness in that, too. I still think it could be our weakest link. As I’ve said all year, I think we’ve had the potential, just need to execute game day. That goes for our offense, too.

    As I said above ... I don't know that they've made that decision yet for the next series ... I think Maeda to the pen was for the first series where they only need 3 starters. We'll see what happens next. But I'd piggy back them ... maybe give Ober 4, then Maeda 5, or something like that.

    Personally, I'd piggyback Maeda and Ober in the 4th starter role. I don't think there has been any decision about this at all. I think the decision that has been made is Ryan for the 3rd starter and Maeda to the pen for the WC series. After that, we'll see.

    Honestly, I'm hoping Lee is in the picture for next season. But for this season, no. There would have to be extraordinary circumstances to do that this year, particularly since he doesn't need to be added to the 40-man for a while yet and has not yet experienced Major League pitching and play. I'd rather have given Martin a cuppa this year as he does need to be added in the off-season. Neither, however, do I want to add to the play off roster. I mean, no.

    Why do you think that? Both he and Ober have experience in the pen. So what makes Maeda a better reliever? A RP, imo, needs more velocity. Wouldn’t that be Ober? I have no issues with Maeda in the pen, but I just want to know why people proclaim Maeda the better reliever. I also think Maeda has been the better starter over Ober, and maybe over Ryan, too, recently. Maybe in the next round the two of them could combine in a piggy back as the 4th starter.

    Lee isn’t on the 40-man and is ineligible for the playoffs at this point. Creating 40-man issues, finding playing time, for a cup of coffee, when the team should be focussing on the playoffs, I’m just not sure it’s the right move to make. I was pushing to get Martin up earlier, but that will also have to wait until next year. I’m hoping that when the off-season comes, both Martin and Lewis will be doing some outfield work.

    That’s why I didn’t do it myself. I don’t like challenges like you do 🙂 Although, it is possible to sort the forums by number of replies, so that should get you there fairly easily

    Just trying to express an opinion that given this board's opinions on Julien's defense, that was really a great play to end the inning and clinch the title. That out was more on him than Duran, imo.
