  1. I've lived through 9 ... and this is the one I'm least proud of ... in fact, am downright embarassed by. And not because of any disagreements I might have in his policies, but in his person. He is a despicable, horrible human being. Edit: 10 - forgot about Ford.
  2. I don't care what anyone's views are on immigration, pro or con, what people should or shouldn't do. I don't care where you land on the political spectrum, that's everyone's right to choose. But this policy, POLICY, that came from the White House, from Trump and his administration, is wrong on every level, and your justification of it is akin to how Germans went along with Hitler. This is child abuse, to rip children, nursing babies even, away from parents, in a strange country, where they don't know the language, and put them in cages with little but mats/cots to sleep on, deprive them of human contact and comfort (workers were instructed not to give any human comfort) ... that kind of treatment is beyond cruel, hence my 'concentration-camp' like comment, because that's what it is. It is NOT the law to do this, was never the law to intentionally separate families; this is new policy set forth by the Trump Whilte House. It's torture. Yes, fine, detain people who try to cross the border illegally, but keep these kids with their families. Most of these parents don't even know where their kids are. And some of these families present themselves at the border LEGALLY, seeking asylum. Why are they being treated so? They've broken no laws, yet their young ones are being forcibly separated from them. Don't give me a 'Well, they should've done something different' story, because that is so far from the point. Far from the point. And now the military is being asked to provide 20,000 beds for these recently caged children. Seriously. There is just no justification for this. NONE. It is NOT law to cause certain physical and mental harm to children who did nothing but travel with their families. They likely have no idea what immigration is, legal or illegal. We aren't saving them, we are doing serious harm. That to me is no finer definition of evil that I can muster. And so you know, I don't get my news from random sources ... I get my news from NPR, PBS, BBC, WSJ, 538, WaPo. These are not slanted sources. But when every single one of them has a myriad of articles all saying the same thing about what is happening, there is little I can deny. But obviously you have a different source that is nothing but denial. Good for you. /s
  3. You should've known better. We won the 1st two, it was highly unlikely we'd win the sweep ... against Boston.
  4. Man, that looked awful. We can’t lose Esco, too.
  5. He’s an insult to all people of faith. And to Atheists, too, for that matter.
  6. Still looking for a volunteer for the game thread tomorrow. Do it, do it now ... or you will be getting more shoe posts.
  7. It's not about being lovable ... it's about his value to the team ... or what I think his value to the team has been and could be going forward. I'm less and less sure about what Dozier has that we couldn't get elsewhere. Same with Mauer. While I'm always a little sad when long-time members of the team move on or retire, sometimes it's just time. I'm more certain of that with Mauer than Dozier, but Esco I think is a keeper. You and I are just on different pages of different stories.

  9. I'm okay with that. He's been asked to be more than a utility infielder, too ... not sure how it will all shake out and we'll have to wait and see, but he will be one I will be really, really sorry to see go if we don't sign him.
  10. I wanted him extended before this, not because of this. He is well above average (imo) as a utility infielder and has been able to step in as a starter for long periods of time. While his defense may not be of a 'hot shot' variety, he makes the plays he should with minimal errors. I think that is highly valuable in the role he has played for us. And I want him to keep playing that role. I've been a fan of his long before this unbelievable explosion of a year he's having.
  11. Jumping in for a PSA. Only 4 game threads remain for June including tomorrow's finale vs Boston ... will it be for the sweep or the series tie-break? And the series opener vs the Cubs! Wow ... surprised that is still there! It's our first trip to Wrigley in, what ... 6 years? And all you Wrigley defenders just sit there? Come on ... you'd better take it up ... or I will and tell you what a dump Wrigley is.
  12. We have only 4 openings left for June, including tomorrow's game against Boston, which could be the tie-breaker or the sweep of the series! Let me and Chief know.
  13. That is all erased by throwing children and babies into concentration camps. Sorry I can’t share your opinions but this man is nothing but evil. Tattoo that ‘666’ across his forehead and that about covers it. IMHO, of course.
  14. Oh stop it ... and read heezy’s article on it. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/30343-article-royce-lewis-patellar-tendinopathy/
  15. Thanks, heezy! Once again, educating the masses here at TD.
  16. Lol ... I like how there was a pause in the posting there until Rodney finished it out.
  17. Yeah, but there is no fault on the Twins for that. That was just one amazing throw. No blecht about it from me, even though we were out.
  18. Now that’s the substitution that should happen.
  19. There was no should’ve with that. That was a great throw, period.
  20. I would’ve been mad if I were the Red Sox if that got overturned.
  21. And that was one crazy throw ... omg
  22. I want to hear about a contract extension for Esco tomorrow.
  23. Moderator Note: This thread has surpassed its usefulness. While having a discussion thread, even one to express useful frustration, is a good thing, this thread is now sounding more like a partisan stand off, with various stances being repeated over and over and over again. If you have a specific topic you wish to discuss, please focus your thoughts and start a new thread. There are also many other threads to jump in on. This one is now locked. Thanks.
  24. The watch parties in my neighborhood were at neighborhood bars. You could just go and hang.
