  1. This is really where I’m at with that trade. I think Esco was far more valuable to us than Dozier. So much so, they were never going to get what he’s worth to us. And I don’t say that just because Esco was my favorite. Well, maybe partly but not entirely. I’m really not sure what all to make of the Dozier trade. There certainly was stuff going on behind the scenes that we will probably never fully know the whole story so I’m not sure if the FO was ‘getting rid’ of him or he was ‘getting rid’ of us, likely some combination. It really seemed that this year Dozier had lost some of his passion, whether that was from the writing on the wall that he was not going to be re-signed, or conflicts in the clubhouse, or what. No idea on that. But it certainly seems like the FO made any deal they could and are done with it.
  2. I have more questions than answers reading all this. But these are answers that are likely not going to be made public.
  3. I’m sorry but you don’t create that kind of upheaval for one player. I’m calling conspiracy theory on this.
  4. He wasn’t happy at all about Escobar either. Describes losing him to a hard punch in the gut.
  5. That hammer needs to fall soon before Trump makes it impossible to get to the end. He’s working very hard to undo the judicial system, to invalidate the media, to whip people into an attack frenzy ... this is not going to end well one way or another, imo
  6. I’m still sad about Escobar. I don’t think I’ve ever been this sad over a trade. Yeah, it was the right thing to do but that guy’s pure love of the game, the smiles, the joy in what he does in any role he was given, ready to go, is always the teammate you want to have. He’s not going to be the ‘superstar’ but his kind is always vital to a team, imo
  7. Right. Also doesn’t want to get the fan base (well, me) upset too soon
  8. Yes, yes, some of us are. And children should be seen NOT heard. And mind your elders, too!
  9. Can I say **** on here? Well, I’m going to because ****, my vertigo has returned. Dizzy, nauseous motion sickness while being absolutely still is so much ****ing fun.
  10. I think that’s the best solution.
  11. Ive said that since he was a candidate for the job.
  12. Omg!!! I am both excited and horrified for this! I mean ... how can you 'remake' that without Julie Andrews???? And Dick Van Dyke????? I mean ... HOW? Or more importantly ... WHY???? For God's sake ... why???? Probably in my top 5-10 movies of all time. I can sing every song. It will NOT live up to the original.
  13. But only the Twins will use that, right?
  14. If you changed it to 'Wine Line' you might have plenty to look forward to.
  15. Ah, right ... sometimes you have to read the quoted of the quoted of the quoted to get the right meaning.
  16. My guess is 'Whoever comes up first to face him.'
  17. Um, to teach Belisle a lesson? What lesson? Not to have our FO sign him? Should he have said, 'Oh, please, don't sign me.'
  18. Ugh. That is one reason to not trade Rodney, imo. I'd much rather have the FRE than the MBE ... besides, I like the FRE acronym better ... easier to work into conversation. Edit: btw ... that isn't a 'fun' thought exercise.
  19. Heh ... Tom posted this (or similar) on Twitter and I was just going to post what he said there ... so ... now I don't have to, and my reporting days are done. Until I have another hunch.
  20. So, how do we appropriately stand up to those kinds of words on Twitter, from that age group, when we see them today? If there is significant online backlash, we are a 'mob' or 'bullies' ... what is an appropriate way to handle these kinds of posts? When adults do it, it becomes even more legitimized. How do we stop this on public social media? Or do we let it go because ... they're young so it's not exactly real yet, freedom of speech, Twitter (social media) is dumb and who cares ... what is the answer? As I said above, I don't really have one. And, again, do people change when they are confronted, even if in a positive way? I think by the time kids are in high school, it's a tougher change to make. I think a lot of ideals are formed ... maybe not set in stone, but I'd guess more hardened that we might give credit. Frankly, I'm not a Twitter fan for the style of posting that is done there. People spew stuff out that just comes to mind without formulating real thought behind it. And maybe that's what needs to be taught ... how to think before acting.
  21. I got my hunch in an hour before the announcement: Yes, I'm proud of myself. Sort of.
  22. It pays to follow a few on Twitter. I guess. Although as a platform, I'm still not a fan.
  23. That could still happen, but it would still leave an open spot. And now I see Tom confirmed my hunch.
