  1. Back on topic ... Ryan LaMarre hit his 1st MLB homerun tonight against the Tigers.
  2. I used to live in a Commonwealth country ... I adapted to certain spellings and they just stuck after I returned home. And I just kind of like how it looks.
  3. Humour was all I was going for ... but the other is worth pondering.
  4. Nah, just working on their positional flexibility.
  5. Hmm, that might carry more understanding if you were truly comprehending these days.
  6. You couldn't do 40-50?? (Okay, I'm really kidding with that.) Has Thorpe moved up officially to AAA yet? I'm seeing he's starting for Rochester tomorrow, per Nate Rowan. edit: oops ... guess this is already being discussed in last night's minor league recap thread
  7. Pfft ... I ain't 'fraid of no Texan!
  8. Dementia really sucks.
  9. Enjoy it while it lasts!! I'd probably still be playing Pong and Tanks today if I could ... the sound affects alone were amazing! (yes, I'm joking ... heh ... )
  10. I didn't realize he had actually played some and then was removed. I thought he had been removed prior to game start, but I posted my above quoted post this morning.
  11. Even if Granite were off the DL ... why would you send him? It would seem ... a wasteful use of a spot to me, but then, I don't know. I've been baffled by these decisions in the past, so maybe I'm a little 'unclear' the purpose of who goes to the AFL or not.
  12. I was kidding ... just giving Pseudo a poke for calling some of us 'old' Does having an Atari system when I was 12-13 count as playing video games in my youth?
  13. Yeah, that whole Chattanooga lineup just didn't do anything! What a bunch of slackers!
  14. Trying for Chief's coattails again, Ash? Tsk.
  15. I’m sorry, but comparing what Rodney does, post save, to a 21-gun salute every morning is way off the mark as far as comparison’s go. Talk about over exaggerations. Players do all manner of things after they win, hit a home run, cross the plate to score ... what Rodney does after a save is no different than what any other players do. I appreciate that you and others didn’t like it, but I’d be careful about insinuating he was lying about it.
  16. Ex-Twin Brian Dozier was scratched from the lineup yesterday due to dizziness. When tested he had an abnormal EKG. Further testing will be done today. Hopefully it’s nothing.
  17. Thad Levine talked about Stewart on Doogie’s show and mentioned his improvement this past year, saying that not getting added to the 40-man and then going unselected really lit a fire under him, not that he hasn’t worked hard, but he really did this past year.
  18. I don’t think you’re crazy for wanting to track the progress of the two, go for it. But I think you’re crazy to think this thread will stay on track. Somehow we’re back to discussing position flexibility ... how did that happen? (Yes, that's a gentle moderator rebuke to TRY and keep it to topic, impossible as that will turn out to be because we have another 6 weeks left to play. That's a long time to keep it stricly to topic, but let's at least wait until page 10 or so before meandering.)
  19. Glad you said Pepsi and not Coke. Pepsi is preferred.
  20. Anyone 40 and older qualifies as ‘old people,’ just so you know.
  21. I’m just going to LOL here, in advance of glunn telling you how old his son is.
  22. Ha! I’d have paid good money to see that, and, he’d probably have a following who’d crow in the stands after every save to go along with it!
  23. I guess we’ll disagree on that ... I think the motivation does matter. Many do repetitive things for different reasons. I guess I don’t consider honoring a close family member as showboating, but whatever. He’s not ours anymore.
  24. I know this has been discussed before, but I don’t consider honoring his grandfather as showboating. That said, he wasn’t my least favorite Twin, but I could barely watch when he came in to pitch.
  25. I’ll be in the neighborhood but unable to attend.
