  1. Hope you're boiling water for Ronnie, too.
  2. That is ... if I sleep.
  3. And I'm sleeping with the lights on tonight. It floats between creepy, scary stuff and good family drama, like I'm watching live theatre ... but i'm still sleeping with the lights on tonight and I'm not coming out from under the covers. ****. I shouldn't watch this stuff but I can't seem to turn it off.
  4. Okay ... episode 5 ... this thing is REALLY scary. Nightmare time.
  5. Concur. But I’m sad all over again. Sigh.
  6. Okay, started watching this. This is scary.
  7. What series do you all watch on Netflix? I’m not into ... historical/period epic type stuff, for lack of a better way to describe it ... but curious what you all just ‘can’t miss.’
  8. Holy cripes ... no one won the Megamillions ... it's up to $1.6billion ... with the cash option of $904million???? Holy cripes ... I honestly would be afraid of winning that at this point. But yeah, okay, I'll still buy a ticket. But holy cripes. Seriously. What would you do with that? After giving away as much as I could to family and friends, there would still be tons left ... even after giving millions to charity, which I would do ... or pay off peole's hospital bills or buy an entire building and dedicate it for homeless families or elderly ... or ... sheesh ... I wouldn't know where to begin or where to end.
  9. Resurrecting this thread for this one I saw today:
  10. This thread is about discussing potential candidates. Twins spending, calling the owners cheap and bringing up contraction is off topic. Period. Knock it off. If you want to mention specific candidates and the odds of them wanting to come here because of specific financial information that you are aware of that would not being appealing to them, that is relevant, but this tired, old, generalization of who would want to come here because the owners are cheap is not going to fly.
  11. There's a couple in there I would seriously consider.
  12. And let's not project things and carry on a different discussion. This is a discussion on the search for a new manager. Let's keep these side tangents out of it.
  13. I wish those numbers were switched and we were seriously looking for an upgrade at SS.
  14. What a doofus. Either he had a real 'deer in headlights' moment or he just can't react and move very quickly. Although looking at it in slo-mo made it look worse ... but still ... what a doofus. Thankfully it didn't affect the outcome of the game.
  15. What in the heck, Joe West. Couldn’t get out of the way for that? Are you on the Red Sox payroll?
  16. I think we can and should do better than that.
  17. Exactly. Esco back on the team would be great in that role and he'd get a good amount of playing time all over the IF, probably more than a traditional back-up/utility.
  18. 'Can get there' is the thing. They aren't there yet. And won't be there, likely, their first full years up as there is always an adjustment period unless they are completely special prodigies, which I don't think either is that. Get a really good SP, a top of the order type, think a 1, 2 or 3, and let those who are about to break in, force their way in. I don't think we should go into 2019 just assuming anything. We have a spot for a SP, let's do it. And if we have to trade someone in-season or move others around to make room, we do it. But where it stands right now, I don't think we have that kind of depth that we should rely completely on what we already have. And I don't think we have that much depth that we can put too many in a package trade unless it's for someone amazing. Just my thoughts. I don't think we really disagree too much here. In fact, I'd call it agreement with some nuance.
  19. No one on that AAA-40man list looks to be a top end starter. If we have a SP opening, go out and get someone who is better than what we have now as AAA filler or backend rotation filler. There are some pitchers in our system that are certainly intriguing, but they aren’t difference makers until they are but certainly won’t be for next season. Get a quality SP arm for 2019. Let the ‘up and coming arms’ make their case and push someone else out.
  20. This times 100. Also imo. I also agree with others that he needs to move to 2nd and we need to acquire a better SS. Maybe even one who could move to 3rd when Lewis or Javier are ready to take over SS. (I didn’t say it.)
