    That's a good question without a good answer. I'd be tempted to move Astudillo as the back-up and Garver as another super utility playing OF(RF)/1B/DH/C. But ... not sure ...

    omg ... they are doing a re-boot of Buffy! Hope it's just as good as the original! If it is, that will definitely be something to watch.

    I had read (or thought I read that, at the time) that they didn't feel he was the manager for the younger players, that he had a preference for older veterans and wasn't good at continuing to develop the younger players. If that's the case, I'd want consideration for him to be considered very carefully.

    I'm not really sure who would/wouldn't be good for the Twins. But I don't want another 'great/good player' without managerial experience. And not just that, but I want someone that has a good track record for progressive thought and methods but who can also bring a strong sense of good ol' fundamental baseball. I don't know enough about anyone out there who would be that, but that's what I want.

    Ever had a migraine or a broken toe? I’m not trying to say Buxton gets a pass for his performance as he definitely has things to work on, but migraines are debilitating. It’s not just a headache. And he didn’t miss an entire season due to a broken toe. He was rushed back up too soon after that and the toe wasn’t healed. So he was sent back down. Where he had wrist issues. He was also not really performing at the plate until the very end so there was no rush to bring him back up. That said, I do hope he works hard during the off season. His defense does not make up for his bat as it was.

    The millions cheering him on is what makes me pretty hopeless about the outcome of our country.

    Cubs LOSE! I’d rather see the Rockies and Brewers play each other in the NLCS as I can’t stand either Dodgers or Braves. Just hope one of these teams makes it to the WS.

    I’ve been saying it for a while now. Gotta love the pipe dreams!

    No offense to you or others suggesting former players with no managerial experience to be managers ... but is there a lesson to be learned in this? Just because they were once great players does not necessarily translate to being good managers. I’d hope for someone with managerial experience and/or MLB coaching experience.

    I have no guesses who will be named but my guess is we’ll all being saying ‘WHO?!?!’ or ‘WHAT?!?!’ when they do name a new manager.

    Concur. Of course, I have a particular SS in mind. (yeah, yeah ... I know, I know ... it's the stuff of pipedreams, ya know?)

    Two divisional tiebreaks tomorrow. All teams will make the playoffs but it needs to be determined who are the divisional winners and who will be the WC. I’ll be cheering on Colorado over LA and Milwaukee over Chicago.
