  1. Yes I hope you weren't expecting more than that. And please post more often. We need you!
  2. I get most nervous to play teams the Twins should have no trouble beating, and the White Sox come to town after just beating the Astros 2 of 3 in Houston, so I hope no one is saying, ‘Yay, we get to play the White Sox now!’ At least we won’t see Giolito this run. But we’ve always had a good rivalry with the Sox and they’ve always played us well. While we were awful last year, they were worse, and yet I still managed to sit through some horrible losses at their hands.
  3. What about twinssporto?
  4. There is an article on this in the Minor League forum. Please direct, or redirect, your comments there. Thanks. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/33233-article-twins-top-pitcher-prospect-brusdar-graterol-at-target-field-for/
  5. it’s just happening at a much higher rate recently. Just can’t help but think it’s not a coincidence, but maybe it is.
  6. Yep. If a pitcher can limit it to three runs or less over 6-7 innings or more, they’ve kept the team in the game.
  7. See what happens when you speak to soon?
  8. Maybe. Which is why I want input from Tom and the owners. Now that the site is no longer in its infancy, and is no longer the ‘wild west’, I wonder if the moderators’ mission has changed at all in their eyes in what they want from us for the site moving forward. I mean, the idea of having more of a presence in game threads in order to influence what kind of environment it is through public response to the drive-bys and negative nellies, to ‘drown out’ the noise vs simply issuing warnings is a departure from past response. I think warnings have become a last resort or saved for the most egregious cases and isn’t the ‘go to’ answer, so maybe we need moderators who have not only a public persona, but the right public persona? I’m just reflecting here of what we were and what we’ve become and if that shouldn’t alter our approach, and why I’ve thrown out the names I have and feel uncertain about some of the others despite them being very nice posters. Maybe we need more snark?
  9. I'm going back to this comment after reading and participating in a few game threads this past weekend and I just don't see it. I see a few critical comments regarding in-game misplays, but I don't see a hammering of points or drive-by shots as many do. That said, I'm not sure what everyone is looking for in a moderator or what everyone thinks would make a good moderator. I really don't want someone who is 'nice' all the time ... or none of us would be here. IMO, we need people who can respond to the drive-bys and the negative nellies as Chief does or snepp does or Ash does ... and maybe Don and Blake can do that and we just haven't seen it. Both of them are great posters ... I'm just not sure if anyone, outside of spycake, would make a good moderator, including those I've suggested, too. (Although I do really like Han Joelo.)
  10. I have to get up early ... can’t last another 1/2 hr that it will certainly take to finish this thing. Hoping I will have chicken sausage for breakfast.
  11. This is a weird broadcast. Seem to hear more single voices from the crowd than crowd noise.
  12. Oh, man ... Aggies is gong to be insufferable now. As if he weren’t already.
  13. They do that in Chicago. It’s weird.
  14. I'm not a huge fan of either Don or Blake as moderators, but eh, I'm not completely opposed, either. If the majority thought they'd be good, including input from the owners, so be it. But Doc? Sorry, but that would be a confirmed 'no' for me.
  15. I think we need to clone snepp a few times ... he is a perfect responder to idiots.
  16. But game threads is where this discussion began, and the need to have more of a presence specifically there. This is why I’m looking perhaps a little bit differently than the rest of you. That said, other than Brock already jumping on spycake, I want to hear from the owners of the site what direction they want to take.
  17. I guess I find Don, along with wsnydes, to be kind of ... well ... bland. The reason we are looking is to get more numbers to turn around the game threads from overly negative, drive by type posters, taking over the threads. Getting people who can respond to those posters and drown their noise. And yes, then they have to be a moderator, too. So, given that is a primary, I'm looking for someone who can inject themselves into situations and add something in the process. I think we're seeing a very wide gap in what we see is important in a moderator. I'm looking for personality more than anything else. Not someone who can tow the straight and narrow and be a 'policeman'. I'd also really like to hear from Tom and the site owners ... how is it they see moderation for the site going forward. We are in a very different place now than we once were, and maybe moderation and moderators needs to be more ... well, less sticklers for rules (not that we throw rules out the window) but more, I don't know ... more personalities. I guess we all kind of are that anyway. But I'd still like to hear what they want. As for spycake, I don't know him personally. Brock already PM'd him ... I think. Did he hear back yet?
  18. Well, I wasn’t having chicken either way. Going out to dinner tonight at the neighborhood Italian place. If my ‘date’ ever gets here.
  19. I say this every time ... I hate the singing of ‘God Bless America’ during the 7th inning stretch.
  20. Not sure who ... but I wouldn’t mind one of these! Yum! https://www.foodnetwork.com/videos/eskimo-bars-in-jackson-hole-0191547
  21. Well, I do think of him. Not in the sense of ‘wish we had him instead of ...’, but he was one of my favorites so I miss him for that.
