    The Twins just refuse to take their medicine, MLR... It's frustrating to say the least. We don't have to look outside the division to see an example of a team that was historically bad 2 years ago now in the playoffs with a full lineup of players 26 years old and younger.

    Almost 10 years later and Case Keenum might be the best QB on the Vikings roster…

    I would bet if we expanded the scope of starts to 16 games or less, since that was the traditional number of games, the list is far worse… My first thought was Josh Rosen who went 3-13 in 16 career starts. Your boy Nick Mullens is 5-15 in 20 career starts

    The season concluded now and these are his MLB stats for 2026: 124 starts - 509 PA - .227/.287/.380 for a .667 OPS. 15 HR - 57 RBI - 16 SB. 82 games at 1B, 37 games at 3B, 15 games at 2B. He’s not a kid anymore. Certainly not someone who can be lumped into the Culpepper, Jenkins, Keaschall, E-Rod, Gonzalez era of young Twins players. At this point, I don’t know if all of his injuries has permanently lowered his ceiling. Maybe he’ll have a year again where he’s an 800+ OPS guy down the road… That being said, I can’t envision keeping him beyond this season. Keeping him means dedicating additional time for him to become a league average 1B. Or a below average 3B. I cheered for him when he came back from AAA and lit it up in May and June. The lows are outweighing his 4-6 week hot streaks.

    There was a tweet about this I saw earlier today. Idk what their filter was on time, but McCarthy is now on this list of 3 other 1st round QBs who were released/traded from their original team after 10 or less starts… Paxton Lynch - DEN Johnny Manziel - CLE Trey Lance - SF Not exactly elite company for JJM.

    Correct. It’s crazy. All we know about Shelton is he signed a multi year contract. Is that 2 years? 7 years? I guess the only way we know is if he’s coaching in spring training that year. If he’s not, the Pohlads will say “Oh, we forgot to tell you? We decided to build an AI manager this year instead.”

    That’s what it appears because we are afraid to plant our flag on a QB for more than a year. Darnold for $35 million is an absolute bargain compared to the QB market as a whole. We should not have been afraid to match or beat the 3 year contract he got from Seattle.
