  1. Dang. Looks like the Rams should have won this one outright but fumbled at the goal line?
  2. Catching this TNF game at the bitter end. Another OT starting shortly for the 9ers and Rams...
  3. There's still time to create a cage with netting underneath the goal posts. Then Will the Thrill and whoever the kicker is for the Browns can do penalty kicks instead of playing OT.
  4. Dodgers Cubs NLCS is a fun matchup. Sorry, I got no confidence in the Brew Crew. Regular season warriors
  5. That low strike 3 call on Bogaerts was the difference maker in that game. Should have been bases loaded.
  6. Why would we believe anything they say when they can't even state the correct number they're in debt? If the economics of owning a mid/small market team is as bad as the Pohlads portray them to be, we would have up to 15 teams closing shop. If the economics is that bad, they would have taken the $1.5 B offer from Ishbia immediately and died laughing that someone was stupid enough to offer that much.
  7. Can't comment on 1977, but agreed that last year was way worse. We were in the driver's seat to clinch a wild card spot until early September. That collapse was epic. This year the season was over around mid June.
  8. It’s truly a slap in the face to anyone with just a little bit of financial literacy. I missed these puff pieces written in the Star Tribune when they were published, but they were linked in the yahoo story… https://www.startribune.com/why-the-pohlad-family-decided-to-keep-the-minnesota-twins/601455080 https://www.startribune.com/joe-pohlad-keeps-the-faith-even-after-twins-fire-sale-and-fan-backlash/601474514 Of course Glen Taylor who owns the Star Tribune has no issue carrying the water for another local billionaire family.
  9. Get ready for a game full of punts. Can't say I'm excited to watch this game with our decimated OL.
  10. The younger Pohlads really think people are stupid enough to believe them at their word. If the average mid/small market team racks up $50+ million in debt per season* this league would seize to exist. Maybe they should pay their bills instead of financing it through their bank year after year. * Where did the Minnesota Twins debt come from? Behind the scenes, the Pohlads claimed it was a combination of a decade-worth of over-spending on talent, lagging attendance, FanDuel Sports North fallout and losses from the 2020 COVID season.
  11. I think I'd rank them this way by attractiveness to top candidates: Braves - Orioles - Rangers - Giants - Nationals - Twins - Angels - Rockies
  12. I have not been paying attention, and this tweet caught my eye. 8 MLB manager openings? Wow.
  13. Dodgers have so much star power and now they’re getting hot at the right time. Mookie Betts found his stroke again. .899 OPS in September and keeping it going this playoff series
  14. Padres Dodgers in the NLCS. I like Seattle in the AL
  15. Had to keep him. Let’s roll!
  16. Fair. I forgot Craig Counsell was announced as MLB’s highest paid manager at $8 per year when he moved to the Cubs in 2024.
  17. Troy Aikman couldn’t wait to go home calling that game. The Bengals will be lucky to win 2 more games the rest of the season. They need to trade for Jameis Winston tomorrow. Browning has channeled his inner Nate Peterman
  18. He’s also my choice if they choose an internal candidate. But I hope they look outside this diseased organization.
  19. We don’t really know what managers are paid. Maybe the best are. Terry Francona may be worth 8 WAR taking the Reds to the playoffs in year 1
  20. Rocco wasn’t the biggest problem in the organization- still the Pohlads - but there was very little to indicate Rocco is a solution for a rebuilding team. It’s time for Falvey to go too.
  21. Fans will come back once the Pohlads are gone and the roster gives people a reason to care again. The Wolves for nearly 15 years were the most incompetent organization in sports. It’s amazing what competent ownership can do. They’ve been one of the hottest tickets to get for the last 3 years.
  22. Thank you for another season of these weekly recaps Nick. I’ve got to imagine this was the most difficult season to keep up with since you started doing it. This was a season of anger. A season that pushed me over the edge with the Pohlads. A season of bewilderment how this team ever won 13 games in a row.
  23. Shocked, shocked I tell you that Wentz turned back into a pumpkin
