    Scherzer leads in fWAR for all pitchers with 2.6. 10th in bWAR with 2.2. He's still very much a stud.

    I would take anyone on that list... Except Boyd from the Tigers. I don't trust Gardy or Rick fixed him.

    I bet they regret not trading Kluber last winter knowing what we know so far.

    I don't doubt it's going to take an elite return. For the Twins, I think this is the year to offer the elite return and go for it. Like Mike mentioned a couple of posts ago, it's not often everyone is producing and healthy. The future is bright, but injury/league adjustments can happen unexpectedly, dimming the bright future lights.

    He wouldn't be a bad acquisition either... And a lot more realistic to think about than Scherzer. But it's fun to dream!

    Concur. Both are top of the rotation arms, but I feel way more confident about Scherzer's ability to start 30+ games a season over Thor.

    B all day long. I love both pitchers, but Thor has a more decorated injury history than Scherzer. I think Scherzer, like Verlander, is a unicorn in the MLB. One of the last remaining ace pitchers you can confidently predict 200+ innings every year.

    On the list, I would substitute Graterol for Balazovic... Mostly because I think Balazovic has a better chance of sticking in the rotation. And because Graterol is at his peak prospect value right now.

    Dustin Morse tweeted last night it's the first time since 8/18/2017 when Buxton and Sano homered in the same game. Let's not wait so long for the next game it happens.

    Good article. They could be the 2015 Kansas City Royals if they make win now moves at the trade deadline. I think the Twins need to act like the Royals and go all in one year when they believe they have a world series contending roster.

    How many pitchers would you trust in a playoff series against Houston? Right now I only trust Rogers, Parker, and May. It's time to get serious about the bullpen... The rest of the team is too good to pass up a playoff run.

    Hildenberger needs a mental vacation in Rochester. The bullpen is pretty ugly on days when Rogers, May, and Parker are limited.

    I only know high ankle sprains in relation to football... If a RB or WR gets one they're pretty much toast for the season. Hopefully it's different in baseball.

    Teams still need filler on minor league rosters. We can pretty much eliminate him from making an impact in the majors. Sucks that a top 5-6 overall pick flamed out in the minors. I'm a big fan of Balazovic. He'll be on top 100 prospect lists in the winter, certainly. Keith Law is leading the charge ranking him as the #3 overall Twins prospect. I think he has much better odds to stick in the rotation than Graterol.

    I'm sure the author's intention wasn't to enter the preposterous statement tournament... But when you compare a current player to a hall of famer, arguably the best player in franchise history, that's where it's going.

    It's annoying that this isn't mentioned in the recap. Shouldn't be that hard to find but evidently it's a mystery when I try to find anyone reporting it. Doesn't make sense when velocity readings were readily available for Pineda and others on rehab assignments.
