  1. I mean, everyone should struggle with their first taste of division 1 football. Still doesn't mean he should take his ball and go home after 1 intrasquad game. I'm sure there's more to this story. Maybe he was misled how much playing time he was going to receive. Maybe he was that bad. Oh well, don't have to worry about ol' Vic again.
  2. I'd love to see a fast moving C in the system. Hasn't happened since Mauer... Garver took nearly 5 years and he still has a long ways to go defensively. Rortvedt is 2.5 years in and in low A...
  3. So this guy is turning 21 soon. How long do you let the experiment at C last? 26 year old 1B or corner OFs aren't that valuable.
  4. What does BPA even mean for everyone? BPA on who's big board? Technically anyone is a BPA because they're still available at 20.
  5. Probably a smart call if he can't beat out 3 redshirt freshman on a bottom feeding D1 team.
  6. We started seeing that last year with Darvish structuring his contract as more front-loaded. I'd love to see that trend continue. As would the players I imagine. That way they can start investing the money early and let it grow.
  7. We should get a better sense this year what profile of player the new regime prefers... The old regime loved toolsy HS OFs and college SP around this draft slot.
  8. What was your favorite Vic Viramontes moment? Mine was learning he was a JUCO QB transfer who packed up and left the program.
  9. It was pretty easy to see last offseason that a RH OF was a need... Instead they went with LaMarre who's had little to no success in the MLB. Can't say I'm shocked this isn't working out for the team.
  10. Do what's right for you, Joe. Don't worry about us fans. I'll remember him as one of my favorite Twins players. He was drafted and made his MLB debut during my "sports sports sports, my whole life is just sports" phase.
  11. Good stuff. Though if this becomes a regular feature, R.I.P. Adopt a Prospect section...
  12. Maybe these guys can be the stars we're all clamoring for in Minnesota... The other duo "stars" aren't looking too hot right now.
  13. I get the sense that Molitor and co. are getting fed up with Buxton's inability to hit the baseball.
  14. 8 walk off losses in the first 50 games of the season... You can't make it up. Wow.
  15. Definitely. We'll never really know where Hughes' leftover money is spent. I hope it's on a new contract and not to pay for Morrison's option year or something intangible we can't see.
  16. The players don't matter in this trade. Simply said, the Twins sold the #74 overall pick for $7 million then included the other players to make it an actual "baseball" trade. It's a good trade for the fans only if they spend that money next season... And they have a lot of it to spend.
  17. Good point. But I'm sure every team has a collection of Hughes, Duffey, Moya types that drags their team ERA too. Can't we be happy that we are seeing an average to above average pitching staff? Especially after 7 years of pitiful pitching stats...
  18. Lynn continues to walk a tight rope every start and it's impressive how he seems to find his way out of jams. Couldn't agree more with Sano and Buxton. The time has passed talking about silver linings with Buxton's offense. For our sake I hope Sano's HR is a sign of things to come. I don't know where this team would be without Kepler and Rosario's contributions...
  19. It's a long season. There's going to be times when the pitching is great, and the offense stinks. And vice versa. Just need to find a time where both the pitching and offense is clicking at the same time. We're just about to enter the dog days of summer... What better time than now?!
  20. That was a good explanation of the Hughes trade but not really a trade. $7 million needs to be spent next year in order to see this as a win for the fans.
  21. That's the frustrating thing too... There's not much they can do other than wait and hope for players to turn it around. I guess they could send away good prospects for a C. Most every other move they could make is making the team worse, or selling low.
  22. Sigh... I'm getting really tired of opposing pitchers looking like a combination of Chris Sale and Justin Verlander every time they play the Twins...
  23. Sano is one of the few legit threats we have at the plate, so he needs to stay put IMO... Escobar hasn't been hitting either. Last 14 days he's batting .225 0 HR 2 RBI .512 OPS. His stats are worse over the last 7 days. I agree waiting for someone to heat up and jack HRs is getting old. I'd love to see more hit and runs and small ball stuff to make something happen.
  24. Best late night food after a day of drinking... Go!
  25. These are all great things!! What kind of pizza?
