This is going to be one of the more fascinating Off seasons for the Vikings in quite some time.
2 QBs, 1 feature RB, WR 3, LG, C, RG, the whole DL, 2 edge rushers, and a CB are all needs.
This feels like just the beginning to a painful rebuild.
I’ll take a stud edge rusher like Jared Verse at 10th overall if they can’t trade up into the top 4-5 picks for a QB. Then take a QB in the 2nd round.
They also need OL because Risner is not a long term answer at LG. I’d argue Bradbury should be replaced at C too.
We were due for our annual blow out loss at home. Didn’t even bother watching once Mullens was put into the game.
We’ve got our answer for next year. The Vikings need 2 QBs at a minimum this offseason. I don’t want to see Mullens, Dobbs, or Hall play meaningful games for the team in 2024. Draft a rookie QB in the 1st or 2nd round, then either bring Kirk back at a discounted 2 year deal or a bridge QB like Jacoby Brissett for 1 year.
I know this is more of a general conversation, but I’m glad the Twins were upfront this offseason about their intentions to scale back payroll. It’s saved me a lot of time not worrying about who’s signing where.
As the years go by, I’m more accepting of the slow burn approach for MLB offseason. The NBA/NFL free agent frenzy is cool for a week, then you forget who went where.
This offseason hasn’t been terribly slow. We got the Ohtani and Yamamoto signings, and the Soto trade so far. In January we will see lots of activity.
Jaren Hall named the starting QB against Green Bay. Looking forward to seeing how he does the last 2 games. We gotta find out if the Vikings need 1 or 2 QBs this offseason.
The ex girlfriend syndrome with Kirk is getting out of control. I heard he also has the cure for cancer but he’ll only share the secret for a 3 year fully guaranteed contract.
After sleeping on it, I think the best QB to lose the final 2 games is Nick Mullens. So keep playing him and tell him to let it fly all over the field. He will sabotage himself and throw 3-4 INTs.
In hindsight sure. I would still want to win and make the playoffs if they were trending up anywhere on the field. Now they are decimated with injuries and the Nick Mullens experience isn’t going to lead them anywhere in the post season.
It’s crystal clear with 2 games left that the Vikings are trending down in every category. Start Hall and lose the last 2 games. Secure a top 12 ish pick and move on.
I have no feeling on this game at all. Typically we always play tight games with Detroit, no matter if we are good and they are bad and vice versa. Wouldn't surprise me if we win by a FG today. It also wouldn't surprise me if it's a blow out loss.
Even in a perfect world with balanced revenue sharing, there will still be the element of bad ownership. There’s a reason why the Cleveland Browns have had 3 competitive seasons in the 20+ years they’ve been back as an expansion franchise. There’s a reason why the New York Jets lose 10+ games infinitely more often than win 10+ games.
I’m just mad that the Dodgers announced this on the same day the Twins announce the signing of old friend Niko Goodrum… Give us one full day to celebrate being in the news, Dodgers!
