  1. Milking every second of KOC sitting at this game
  2. Those are 2 different thoughts Mike. You’re turning him into a spreadsheet. He won a batting title on the team. Of course people are going to be happy if he ends up signing on the team. He’s not an immediate target but if he’s available late in the offseason for cheap why not? I don’t expect Larnach to be here to clog up DH. Do you think Clemens is better to keep around? There are plenty of plate appearances available for professional hitters.
  3. You gotta scratch your head when Mick Abel has a sub 2 ERA with 11 K/9 in AAA over 16 starts 89 innings and looks completely lost at the MLB level. There’s not much more he can accomplish in the minors so I guess let him learn in a long relief mop up role the rest of this season.
  4. Whelp. That will quiet down the Arch Manning hype for a couple of weeks at least. He’s got a lot of work to do as a passer. Looking forward to the Clemson LSU game later tonight!
  5. Signing a fan favorite to offset plummeting ticket sales isn’t the worst idea
  6. Arraez would hit the nostalgia feelings of better times while we toil away in 2026. Concur with @DJL44if we can sign him to a 1/$5 million or less contract I’m fine with bringing him back.
  7. I appreciate you bringing up this side of the argument. It’s an absolute mess in MLB - that’s why I am concerned the 2027 season will be lost in order to make major changes.
  8. That’s gonna happen when our favorite team is actively tanking the rest of the season
  9. He’s a trusty veteran I figured you would like that! 2026 is probably full of never will be prospects and DFA castoffs so at least Arraez hits the nostalgia feelings
  10. Hell, I’m extremely skeptical that Las Vegas will support baseball. That city has been getting crushed by lack of tourists. The tourists that show up have an abundance of other entertainment options besides a random A’s game on a Friday night.
  11. Perhaps we will see Luis back in a Twins uniform for 2026…
  12. It’s really no surprise why baseball hasn’t expanded in 30 years even though it’s brought up every year. There are no cities available to expand where they can be sustainable with their local revenue.
  13. All of the other major sports in the US realized they need to be one for all or all for none decades ago. But baseball keeps dragging their feet. The Chicago Bears in the 1940s and 50s could have decimated professional football as we know it today because they were the large market and outspend everyone. But the league realized back in the 1960s that sharing revenue collectively was best to expand the game and league. If they decided every team’s finances are determined by their local market, Green Bay Packers would have been dead in the water.
  14. The NHL is easier to follow for sure. I’m thinking of concessions to make for the large market teams who will want to feel like they can gain an advantage.
  15. The NBA model might be the way to go. Salary floor, soft salary cap with luxury tax on money spent over the soft cap. Soft cap determined by a percentage of league wide revenue. Implement a max/super max contract FAs can be offered… the current 12, 13 year contracts are absurd.
  16. Rebuilding teams could sign veteran FAs to 1 year deals, they could trade for bad contracts and get draft capital in return, and other options available in pro sports. But there should be an expectation to meet a floor of spending every year.
  17. Are we ever going to learn to stop giving Charley Walters attention? He is the biggest hack sports writer in town.
  18. Classic PJ Fleck week 1 game. I’m very impressed with the young QB Drake Lindsey. His WRs and TEs have been letting him down most of the game. He should have way over 300 yards passing this game. Call me a homer but I think whenever Lindsey declares for the draft, he’ll be a 1st round draft prospect. Can Fleck keep him here until he declares? No one knows.
  19. Drake Lindsey has some serious zip on his passes. Might be another good one for the Gophers.
  20. Oh my. It’s gonna be a heavyweight fight in the NFC North this year
  21. Yep, they probably should trade both. My hope is Falvey and Baldelli are both fired after this season and the new GM keeps 1 of Ryan or Lopez to lead the new and improved culture.
  22. We got a little teaser last weekend and now it’s officially here! I am weirdly optimistic about the Gophers this year. I have no delusions of them making it to the Big 10 (really 18) championship game, but I could see a 9-10 win team this year if the new QB Lindsay is legit. Texas is my adopted football team after living down there several years. The preseason #1 ranking is aggressive. Saturday is going to be a big challenge going to Ohio State. Can’t wait!
  23. Go shirtless tomorrow so I can spot you on camera
  24. That half inning looked familiar against a left handed breathing pitcher
  25. I’d feel a lot better if it was the end of the 8th instead of the 6th. Lots of time left for Toronto to carve up our bullpen
