  1. Erberts and Gerberts.... completely forgot about them. I haven't had their subs in 5 years but I thoroughly enjoyed them! Do they still have the bread guts to eat? That was my favorite part, and dipping that into some soup mmmm good
  2. Bark's wife with a Nigerian Prince??!!! Say it isn't so! Bark, call in buddy. We need to discuss.
  3. Jaime! Dude! Where've you been? My intern's been sad because you aren't meeting him at Target to play MLB The Show 15 anymore.... To answer your question, we did some research, and learned that Jose Berrios didn't start pitching until he was 18 years old! He's got baby miles on that arm, and the front office needs to take that into consideration. The Vanimal started pitching at 10 years old, and my coaches always told me "Vanimal, you can't go the whole game." As much as I threw fits and refused to get off the mound, i still had to give up the ball. Think of Berrios as a 13 year old. Only 3 years into his pitching life. They would wrap him in bubble wrap if they could to save that arm. I also don't trust a guy who's been able to legally drink beer for 3 months. When I was 21 I was drunk ALL THE TIME, and not much has changed since then. Are we sure Berrios isn't drunk right now??????
  4. On the topic of British TV shows, I would recommend Scrotal Recall, season 1 currently on Netflix. The characters on the show are brilliant, and once you get into it, it's hard to stop watching.
  5. WELCOME BACK! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line. Sorry for the delay after a successful first couple of shows. I was suspended for a couple weeks because I MAY have given you all bad advice..... Oh well, you live and you learn. Since I've been gone, the threads are HEATING UP with SCORCHING hot takes. Can a Twins Daily rube be a better GM than Terry? Some think so! Pitchforks... I have one. Do I use it daily? Not really. But some do to fend off the overly positive and negative folks. And BUXTON. Did we ruin him by keeping him in AAA? So many topics, and only one intern to answer calls. We'll take them in the order that they were received. Goooooood afternoon, you're on Minnesota Twins Whine Line.
  6. Love the avatar picture. On my computer screen you are REALLY into watching a video ad...
  7. I'm glad this clown was caught, and I'm sure he's going to see his share of 6 inches and footlongs in prison. Child molesters are the lowest of the low even in prisons, so I'm sure he's going to have a lovely time. As far as sandwich shops go, the bad options outweigh the good. I've never experienced Clark's Subs Bark, but it's a damn shame they were shut down. Personally I never seek out Subway unless it's the only option on a road trip. My sub shops, ranked: - Jersey Mike's - something about them slicing the meat in front of you that makes me think it's at least fresh(er) ingredients - Thundercloud Subs - a staple here in Austin. A comfort knowing the person making your sandwich is higher than a kite, and gladly hooks you up with additional ingredients. - Potbelly - big fan of their hot peppers - Which Wich - custom sandwiches, a little too expensive for what you get. - Quizno's - I remember them tasting better years ago - quality has dropped significantly now - Subway - If it's the only option available, okay. - Jimmy John's - maybe I had it too much at 3 AM during my college days, but now if the option is to not eat, or Jimmy John's, I would choose the former.
  8. They better figure their S out on that one. Luther and Sherlock are elite shows on BBC, I'd hate to miss out on new episodes through Netflix.
  9. Couldn't agree more about The Killing.. Worst detective work of ALL TIME. How they were able to revive that show twice, I'll never understand.
  10. I haven't read through this thread, don't intend to either. I'm just excited that Buxton's going to get his playing time and hope he's an everyday player the rest of the way so he's ready to go opening day 2016. We avoided burning an option year; that's a good thing whether others think it's meaningless or not. The damage from all the threads and anger before: 10+ games in AAA, and seeing Shane Robinson play more than we'd like. Compared to other situations with this team, it's not the worst thing in the world.
  11. Sure it'd be successful because the end goal always is to win it all. In this hypothetical, it sounds like we don't even need a GM. The pieces are in place, set it to auto-pilot and WS champs here we come
  12. No kidding, he was saying he couldn't even see the catcher's glove. He just had that great of muscle memory to chuck it in there like it was any other day.. That and he had a lot of experience from the sounds of it pitching on other substances...
  13. One that I recently watched is "No-No: A Dockumentary" about Dock Ellis' LSD no-hitter. pretty interesting
  14. Another Shane Robinson start. OHHH BOY!
  15. Just a quick google search brought up this article.. And if these are the "best" rule 5 picks in recent memory, you may be right that it's rolling the dice in a losing game. One interesting note in this dated article, "teams made 232 selections in the major league Rule 5 draft from 1999-2012, which places the odds of landing an all-star-level talent at four out of 232—or 1.7 percent. Even if we count all 13 players above as smashing successes, the odds of finding another one are long: 5.6 percent, or about one in 20 Rule 5 picks." http://www.baseballamerica.com/majors/how-to-make-the-rule-5-draft-matter-again/
  16. I get it. That's why I've slowed down on posting too because the topics and conversations are basically the same each day. But I think we're getting mad at the wrong people here. The forums and topics reflect the team's performance. During the month of May each forum topic was nothing's gonna stop us now, duckies and bunnies, and some sprinkling of concerns/red flags going forward. These days.... not so much. We can get mad talking about the same topics over and over again. But if anything, be mad at the team, not the posters bringing up these topics. Doesn't it say something that diehard and casual fans have recognized these problems for months, and very minimal has been done to solve them?
  17. Any thoughts as to why this hasn't worked like in years past? The Twins had sustainable success from unheralded prospects like Juan Rincon, JC Romero, Jose Mijares, Matt Guerrier, etc. And lately just can't seem to find the magic formula like they could before.
  18. Not sure how much else can be added to this conversation.. TR did cash in initially on Suzuki and Hughes with good, team friendly contracts. It's just frustrating that the FO took the bait and doubled down after Hughes' career year, and Suzuki's career high 1st half. I think we can all admit that we would be talking about Nolasco and Santana under performing their annual contract rate eventually. I just figured we would get at least a good year out of them before we got to this point of being frustrated with them.
  19. The successful life we're livin, got us feuding like the Hatfield's and McCoy's......
  20. From my TV it looked like McCann could have enjoyed a nice home cooked meal and have time to throw him out..
  21. This is my first time watching this clip ever... I can't believe that worked!!
  22. Can you send that info to One Twins Way, Minneapolis MN 55403 and CC Terry Ryan? Clearly we know more about him than the people making the decisions. Considering he has more starts in LF than SS.........
  23. May be time to name May the interim closer for the next couple of opportunities... Let Perk figure out what's going on in the 7th/8th inning.
  24. I'd like to see him start in the future as well, if anything to make the Denard Span trade look a little better. But unless he finds another secondary pitch and control in his pitches, he might be one of those prospects that never figures it out...
  25. Locked in, meaning they are all under contract for 2016 and beyond. If there's a way to get rid of 2 out of these 3 (Santana, Nolasco, Hughes) I will be ecstatic. But I have a feeling since they're all making good money, the FO will put them back in the rotation and pretend this season never happened in the case of Nolasco and Santana.
