  1. Agreed. Pacman Jones is a clown who deliberately tried to concuss Cooper at the very least. He's lucky that Cooper wasn't seriously injured as a result of getting the back of his head slammed into his helmet. With so many ticky tack penalties called in the game, it's amazing that blatantly obvious fouls are still missed on the field.
  2. Pretty entertaining 1st week of football, minus a couple of clunker games. Titans v. Buccaneers had to have been un-watchable, and the Sunday Night Football game was brutal until about 2 minutes left in the game after I gave up and went to bed. Any predictions on the home state team tonight? I'm a little nervous of the offensive line now that Sullivan is out...
  3. I'm late to this party but the same redirects are happening to me. I can have the website idle on my iPad and it will still redirect me to the App Store to download Draft Kings. I thought it was just my iPad but good to know it's happening to others....
  4. Speaking of viewing TD on iPads Chitown, I've had a problem where if I scroll down on a thread, it automatically redirects me to download some DraftKings app. Have you experienced that? Or is it just my iPad?
  5. The smart decision would be to keep the redshirt status for Croft and just accept that Leidner is the only answer at QB this year. But the fan in me would like to see what the freshman can do with this talent. Granted I haven't seen him play a lick, but at least he's touted as a pocket passer. Leidner has set the bar pretty dang low on passing ability, so even as a freshman he could be better than Leidner right now. If there's any time to pull the redshirt status it would be this week, so the kid could get some confidence built up against 2 cupcake teams. Will we see it happen? I doubt it. More than likely Kill will go with the smart decision and see how the season turns out with Leidner leading the way.
  6. Would anyone pull the redshirt status from Croft and see if he can do any better than Leidner?
  7. I'm not sure exactly what Pinto's contract situation is, but if he's eliminated from the C conversation permanently, he's certainly a candidate to be removed from the 40 man this off season, correct?
  8. I wouldn't even consider Indy to ever be a rebuilding team. They lucked out, which might not be the best term, on losing Peyton Manning for the season in a year where the best QB in the last decade was NFL draft bound. They absolutely tanked that season to make sure they obtained him... As a Vikings fan, I am extremely resentful of the Packers and Colts for not skipping a beat on obtaining HOF caliber QBs.
  9. Agreed. They have the luxury of playing in the worst division in football for the last 10+ years. Once they play a good team in the playoffs their D will be shredded to pieces.
  10. Could happen. Their secondary has a lot of questions on how they can replace Revis. As long as Brady is the QB they can be competitive
  11. Oakland has some tough sledding early this season but I do like Carr and Amari Cooper. The Bills I have zero faith in. Good D but absolutely zero answer at QB.
  12. I thought the thing with San Diego was unknown pitchers can go there and achieve good results? (a la Tim Stauffer) Shields has gone there this year and has put up his career worst FIP 4.40, career worst BB/9 3.5, highest WHIP 1.34 in 5 years, and has given up 29 HR's in a notably pitcher-friendly ballpark. Some of that I'm sure can be explained by a bad team and defense behind him, but it doesn't give me a lot of confidence that he's going to return to elite status heading into his age 34 season......
  13. Well, we made it. The Twins have kept my interest so much this year that the NFL season actually snuck up on me. Where as in the last 4 years, I could have counted the days until real football began. I thought it would be fun to do a Predictions thread to see what everyone thought of the new season. Below are my predictions. Feel free to post yours. NFC NORTH: Green Bay Packers 11-5 Minnesota Vikings 10-6 (HOMER PICK ALERT) Detroit Lions 7-9 Chicago Bears 5-11 NFC EAST: Dallas Cowboys 12-4 Philadelphia Eagles 9-7 NY Giants 8-8 Washington R Words 3-13 NFC WEST: Seattle Seahawks 12-4 Arizona Cardinals 10-6 St. Louis Rams 7-9 San Francisco 49ers 4-12 NFC SOUTH: Atlanta Falcons 10-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-8 Carolina Panthers 7-9 New Orleans Saints 6-10 AFC NORTH: Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6 Baltimore Ravens 9-7 Cincinnati Bengals 7-9 Cleveland Browns 5-11 AFC EAST: New England Patriots 13-3 Miami Dolphins 10-6 Buffalo Bills 6-10 New York Jets 4-12 AFC WEST: Kansas City Chiefs 10-6 Denver Broncos 9-7 San Diego Chargers 7-9 Oakland Raiders 5-11 AFC SOUTH: Indianapolis Colts 12-4 Houston Texans 8-8 Jacksonville Jaguars 6-10 Tennessee Titans 4-12 NFC WC: Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals AFC WC: Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens MVP: Andrew Luck QB - Colts Super Bowl Champ: Green Bay Packers...... sigh.
  14. It's the first time we've had any significant rain in Austin in over 50 days. Decided to take a break from the game, open a new beer, and watch the thunderstorm roll through from the balcony.. Who else is with me on this activity?
  15. I'm right there with you thinking that narrative was nothing more than a made up hot Twins take here on TD. I can't believe that's an actual quote....
  16. Thank you for the call David. Though it was a little tough hearing you, the reception must not be as good in Hong Kong. I kept hearing a bunch of beeps, but I think I heard most of it...... We weren't able to get in touch with Paul Molitor to get his exact quote, but we were able to reach his brother, Pat Molitor, who had this to say. "Paul likes to troll TD posters with his lineups. It brings him great joy to get VodkaDave going.." I think you said something about Vargas? I'm not sure where he's been lately either. It's not like he can hide well.... I mean the guy is HUGE! Have you ever tried to play hide and seek with a 6'5" 300 lb guy? There's not a lot of places for him to hide.......
  17. Bark, always good to hear from you my friend. The intern woke me up this morning with the same hot rumor that Gardy was making his return to the AL Central. I can not be more EXCITED for this to happen. It's the return of Pitch-to-Contact! Detroit is the gift that keeps on giving. It's like they have no idea of the Twins' future plan of bunting every.single.at bat. I have no doubt that Rick will ride in on that white stallion to join Gardy back on the bench. They're the 2 best friends that anyone can have! I can't wait to see Verlander start throwing 91 mph and Miguel Cabrera focus more on hitting to the opposite field.
  18. Thank you for the call Haight. To answer your question, no he does not need an apology. Quite frankly, I'm sure he's thrilled that so many people remember him! Sometimes he could use some love, we're all human beings. Even the Vanimal. We've all had a Billy Smith in our lives, Haight. He's the recent ex! When things aren't going as planned with your current partner, some reflect and think, he wasn't so bad....He at least let me do this! But eventually, the bad times come to the surface, and we all remember why they're an ex.
  19. I chose the wrong night to drink vodka and enjoy a Twins game....
  20. Testing, test. Hello? I f'd this up, let's do this f'ing thing again. Oh we're live?.... Annnnd welcome back! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line. Since the last time I checked in, the threads have been HEATING up with takes so hot, you need oven mitts to respond to their messages. What have we learned? TR not only is HOF bound, but is actually our SAVIOR. Poor JO Berrios needs to grow 3 inches or he's DOOMED. And plenty of bickering back and forth. You may not realize this now, but Vanimal is the answer to all of your problems. The glass is full of Deep Eddy's Lemon Vodka, and the phone lines are plugged in. We'll take calls in the order that they were received. Hello?
  21. Only 1 game so far, but the Defense looks like a 10 win team, and the offense looks like a 5 win team with Leidner leading the way. I think it will even out to be a 7-9 win team. A good result by any Gopher team in the last 20-30 years, but missing the QB needed to be Big 10 champion material.
  22. I'm not a well-traveled MLB Park mind... but these are the few I've been to. #1 - AT&T Park - not even close. #2 - Target Field #3 - Wrigley Field (before the video scoreboard was installed in LF) #4 - Kauffman Stadium #5 - Miller Park
  23. Holy cow I'm so distracted at work from reading the hot Twins takes.... What is in the water today on TD?
  24. Mr Robot on USA Network is the real deal. highly recommended.
  25. I have the fire department on hold just in case if your keyboard burst into flames after that hot twins take.
