  1. Pretender, you see the how the Twins can play well against teams in our division, but as soon as you begin to play the big dogs like Boston we start to crumble. The bullpen right now is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. We are running into the same scenerio as we did in previous years were are bullpen will be gassed by June or the start of July. The management has to pull the trigger on trading Dozier so we can at least insert one more quality starter in our rotation.
  2. Why why why is Vargas out of the lineup?
  3. A lot of talk about resigning Dozier. IMO if we lock up Sano and Vargas continues to hit, you trade Dozier ASAP for pitching.
  4. After looking at Sano's stats regarding how many games he has played in both minor and major, I just dont think you can sign him to any megadeal without first seeing if he can actually play a full season and be able to justify the kind of longevity and price some of you are talking about. His sample size in the majors is to small and I say give him this season and possibly next to determine the size of the contract.
  5. Let us not jump the gun to quickly on Sano. He only has a .255 batting average in the MLB. Even looking at his minor league numbers they really dont jump out at you. His batting average has continued to fall over the last week and his strikeouts are creeping up which is not shocking. IMO I think they simply need to wait until the offseason to see where he is at. He has proven that he is a hands down all star as of yet. How many times does teams need to be screwed over with these 6-8 year contracts? Have we not learned with Mauer? In short I believe it is a simple wait and see approach. If the guy doesnt hit below .280 or so by the end of the season I would say they should consider a 4-5 year contract and for the love of God do not give him a no trade clause.
  6. I didnt know the Mets have already given up on the season. Harvey value to the Mets has to be pretty low. I am not sure who they have to take his place so I cant speculate on that, but the trade might work out for all.
  7. Harvey was just suspended for violating team rules. Neil Walker ia batting close to .200 and Harvey ERA this year is 5.14. Just a shot in the dark.
  8. Berrios in the bullpen as a long reliever, Duffy stays, Gibson in the bullpen, trade for Harvey from the Mets and prospects for Dozier.
  9. Come on Twins! Time to go for the throat here.
  10. Yikes do people turn on this team fast. Sale is pitching lights out and we have a bunch of young players who are getting owned at the plate. The Twins are not going to make a run at 90 wins and the majority of posters know this. This team is projected to win 79-82 games. I guess my point is that if you thought this team was going to win the majority of their games you are mistaken. This team has been a surprise since last year and I have enjoyed the season much more than previous years because I dont go into the season with such high expectation because as many of you know it is not statistically possible to believe this team would win every series.
  11. This usually dooms the Twins when I make a feeble prediction, but oh well. Twins 7 Sox 0. Santana goes the distance and we see homeruns from Vargas, 2 from Sano, and the Sox commit 3 errors.
  12. It is nice to see the Twins pull the trigger early on these pitching moves. Hopefully we have the talent in the farm system to strengthen this weaking bullpen.
  13. Mauer is not the reason we have been losing games. The entire 23 million dollar point is simply not valid IMO. The team has plenty of money to spend and have refused to do so. Buxton, Santana, Kepler ect. can all be picked out for some of our losses and not just Mauer.
  14. I really dont understand why Gibson is still a starter. With our good start this you would think management would try and tweak this team so we are running on all cylinders. We have choices to replace Gibson. Duffy is pitching really well, but am on the fence if I would want to take him out of the bullpen. I am just rambling....
  15. If Sano plays like this the entire year, hands down he will be MVP.
  16. Let us not forget the debacle when it came to Joe's contract. I am hoping they will sign Sano to a 4 year contract around 75 million with some type of option for a 5th year and for the love of God do not put in a no trade clause.
  17. Management needs to make some moves when it comes to defense. We need some players who are big and can knock the **** out of them if needed. Suter is decent and can play a lot of minutes, but Dumba needs to go along with Prosser. Both have been down right horrible in the playoffs and regular season. If you look at their when it comes to the playoffs it is a joke. +/- on Prosser is -5 and for Dumba of -4 in a combined 41 games. That is just a start of something they should do. It is time to start building a team around players who can step up in the playoffs. This one series and done is getting old.
  18. This is one difference compared to last year, we actually have had some clutch hitting early in the season.
  19. I think it is entirely to early to gauge how this team will be. The start has been refreshing this year, but we still have these lingering problems: 1. Our back end of the rotation still is very questionable. We wont know where we stand until we go through it a couple more times. 2. We still havent seen what our lineup is going to do. Buxton, Rosario, Santana, and Mauer are all batting pretty crappy right now. 3. I still believe our closer is a question mark. He has not been lights out and has made the 9th inning a little stressfull at times. Hopefully by the end of this month we still are well above .500 and it is so much more enjoyable to watch compared to last year.
  20. I was a poster on BYTO. You had to have very thick skin when posting because people would call you out quicker than a Buxton strikeout.
  21. Yikes do you guys shift your stance on the Twins when we fall behind.
  22. We are hitting the ball well, now to get the runners in.
  23. Calling it, Buxton gets a double here.
  24. I ended up getting 175 to 1 odds. Only put 50 down but that would be one helluva a payoff.
