  1. Any brain issue resides with anyone thinking Sano was a RF.
  2. Which doesn't change the fact that putting Sano in RF was stupid.
  3. Putting Sano in RF wasn't a gamble. It was just plain stupid.
  4. No, they've fallen into a pattern of believing in the guys they have developed in their system. YOU might not like that and a lot of others might not as well. If they were making moves that didn't pan out and blocking guys in their system you'd be pissed about that too. Are they making the right decisions? Nobody knows. Not even you. Time will tell. Success this year may not be the ultimate judging factor. Deal with it.
  5. You DO realize that ANY player you EVER pick up from another team by any means, including trade and free agency has essentially been fired by said team right?
  6. Why would you create a hole to fill a hole? Like running on a treadmill. Run as much as you want but you end up in the same place you started. But, just for kicks and giggles, tell us which holes you think you can fill by trading your best starting pitcher.
  7. Trading the one bonafide starter in not a good plan.
  8. Couple responses: Not sure how important it is to have a catcher who can "lay down a bunt when YOU feel it is necessary. 2: You are correct in that Joe Mauer is NOT walking thru that door. And, actually, I'm OK with that. I'm 61 years old and, truth be told, the prospect of spending my "golden years" listening to Twins fans bitch about one of the best ever at his position not being able to hit for power is not one I relish.
  9. None of these guys are bringing back anything that will help this team in the next year or two or maybe even ever. There is no Nelson Cruz for Joe Ryan scenario on the horizon. Just hope to God there is also no Jose Berrios for a couple of AAAA guys either.
  10. Probably why they are selling. Folks with money like to avoid cash poor positions.
  11. Typically, in this type of transaction, the buyer purchases assets only. Debt remains with the previous owner. Now the price of the assets may account for some (but probably not all) of the debt but at the end of the day, they new owners are not likely to assume the debt. The only debt they will have will be for any payments they make on the team if it's not a cash deal.
  12. Everyone conveniently forgets that they traded the best pitcher they developed in a generation. Yeah, I know, they weren't going to be able to re-sign him. But do we REALLY know that? I won't even mention that they took a stud who was a starter all thru the minors and made him a reliever. A really good one but I'd rather have a starter.
  13. Seems like there's been talk of teaching Wallner or Larnach to play 1B all season. Also seems like there's been very little actual teaching Wallner or Larnach to play 1B. Honestly I'd rather see Sabato EARN and get a shot and either become the player they envisioned when they drafted him or play well enough to hold the spot and have someone like Billy Amick rise thru the system quickly and become the 1B. Small sample size but doing quite well this year. The problem with moving Larnach or Wallner becomes the amount of time we end up seeing a Castro or Keirsey or Gasper out there.
  14. There could be worse things than a highly drafted highly touted prospect who plays a position of need for a team that needs power hitting finally getting it right even at age 26,
  15. Was thinking along those same lines. Feels like only a few months ago we were hearing about it being a great time to trade arms for bats. Things move fast.
  16. Adams is going to get a lot of frequent flyer miles crossing the river over the next few months.
  17. A couple of these guys appear to wear their baseball glove on the hand closest to the 3rd base dugout. Seems odd for Twins pitchers. Are they facing the wrong direction? Is this even allowed? Perhaps a followup article is in order.
  18. I should think that while we should be able to be on the lookout for the roster construction to workout the way it was intended heading into the 2025 season I'm not as sure that we can count on it.
