  1. I think Puig could be bad for a clubhouse. Which is good for Cleveland.
  2. Geez it would be nice to see these guys be able to execute some small ball. Not that they really need it that much, but it would force other teams to at least respect that they could do it.
  3. I'd like to see Giles and Kennedy. 7 8 and 9 are taken care of with those two and Rogers. Then you have Duffy, May, Harper and Romo for 5th and 6th and someone like Perez who I assume is the 5th starter for in case of extra innings etc... The asking price on Giles can't be that much if the gave up Stroman for nothing? If they for some reason made the WS and they had to play National League then you drop one of Duffy, Harper or May so as to add another bench player??
  4. Left handed starters are so important against teams like the Yankees and Red Sox because of the band boxes they play in. The Right field wall is within spitting distance of home plate, so lefties help in those situations. If Pineda is a FA at the end of the season why would the Twins be worried about innings?? I totally understand when you got a guy who is young or under control for 3 or 4 more years you want to save a dude like that, but we are talking about a guy who might be gone at the end of the year why not use him up? Also the more innings he throws probably helps him in free agency. Like see, ain't nothing wrong with my arm. Etc....
  5. Well maybe they'd give up Degrom, Syndergaard and Wheeler for Buxton, Lewis, and Krilloff?
  6. https://nypost.com/2019/07/29/marcus-stromans-yankees-desire-confirmed-after-ugly-clubhouse-scene/ Apparently Stroman didn't want to go to the Mets?? Wanted to go to a contender?
  7. I completely agree, however, Stroman has held his own against mostly the AL East?? I'll be interested to see how he does in the NL?
  8. Well when over estimating another teams assets could be an issue, I think we are estimating apples to oranges. I mean Thor is a very highly proven starting pitcher and Diaz is a closer that saved like 50 games last year; yes he is not doing as well this year but he does still throw 100mph, the twins have a tough time finding anyone who can throw 95 in the majors consistently. So the issue is that we would be offering guys that we hope can make it to the majors and they are trading guys that have already shown they belong in the majors. Geez I hope it happens, but those are the facts. I think all this is being skewed by what Toronto got for Stroman. I feel like the Mets got away with something. Almost like Toronto hates the Yankees so much that they just gave Stroman to the Mets so the Yanks can't get him??? Porb not, but it really seemed like a cheap offer for Stroman?
  9. Shoot, I'd do that for sure!
  10. Maybe the Mets want someone to replace a few minor league pitchers for Syndergaard??? Or Wheeler might be available also?
  11. That's what I thought too? Woods Richardson has a 4.25 era in A ball??
  12. Stroman was just picked up by the Mets. Does that mean Syndergaard has a deal in place?? I wonder where? I can't see the Mets trading with the Yanks.
  13. I think Romo is better than Parker. Now hopefully they can get a real frontline starter and move Perez to the BP. Im hoping for Syndergaard??
  14. Guess we are just going to bend over and take this one tonight?
  15. Every game the Twins lose due to their bullpen raises the prices of any trades that they will be looking for.
  16. A bunch of the yankees make very little.
  17. This is where Rogers should be in here right now
  18. While they are into waiving people?
  19. Sano has been swinging a good bat lately. On Thursday he just missed another bomb by just inches.
  20. I think they were prob just friends and Berrios felt bad about it because Morin wasnt worth any more than some cash considerations. Maybe Falvine could have their soda machines stocked for the year whatever they released him he wasn't coming back. This is a case where guys need to learn to not necessarily go to social media all of the time.
  21. Every good salesman can smell desperation immediately. If you look desperate you're going to get taken to the cleaners. However, the twins bp haven't done a very good job the last couple of days as far as keeping lid on the jar. So the twins are starting to look kinda desperate for pitching. It seems like the Yankees never look desperate, but for some reason they are able to repeatedly over and over again land really good pieces.
  22. I think it goes to show that spring training does matter a little. Wow, could you imagine the Twins with Lynn and Pressly still on the squad?
  23. Gallo prob isn't really a true CF, prob more like a firstbaseman playing in the OF, sorry Gallo, but that's just my opinion, anyway, he was moving towards the play, so in reality he probably gets thrown out more often on that play, not less. If Jackie Bradley, or one of those dudes made that play, Buck is still out. It was prob a 30 to 40 percent chance he gets gunned down if you consider that most CFers are better than Gallo, hell Buck would have thrown Buck out. Also the problem wasn't that Buck was faster than School, it's the fact that the ball was faster to 3rd than School, even if Cron is running the only way School scores is if the throw beats Cron by so much that he is able to stop and get caught up in a run down. Either way you look at it it was a bad play, because of 2 factors. Because 3rd base is not that important with 2 outs already, ground ball or sac fly doesn't do anything for you. Base hit scores Buck from 2nd and the one thing that no one is talking about is that it was a tie game. Had the Twins been up by 5 or 6 runs then it doesn't really matter, but it does matter in a tie game. Buck has been playing great baseball, he is one of the reasons the Twins are in first place. But that one was just a bad play, a mistake, it happens. You just hope he learns from it for a really important game like in the playoffs.
