  1. I enjoy the game but I uninstalled it for 3 reasons: First, I live out of town and there are no pokestops around. So I could only stock up on supplies during breaks at work. Second, in my experience when I walked around at home to catch pokemon and hatch eggs, the game would lock up as soon as I left a wifi zone and when on 4G. That was bad enough, but when I closed out and tried to re-open the app the login would fail and I wouldn't be able to get back in until I was back on wifi. Third, I would like to go to a "friendly" gym to learn and practice battles. But in all the friendly gyms in my area, the lowest creature's combat power is always double mine so the battle is over in 2 seconds.
  2. For a billionaire, owning a professional sports team is a rare achievement. There are only about 120 pro teams in the 4 major sports. So owning 1 puts you in small club.
  3. First, he asked for position players. Second, Santana was hidden in the BP during his age 21 season (much like Graham was last year). He only appeared in 30 games and had a 6+ ERA. Third, Santana spent most of his age 22 season in the minors (only appeared in 15 games). It was his age 23 season where he came back as a dominant starter that we remember.
  4. According to Baseball Reference, Perkins came into this season with a little over 8 years of Service Time. Which means he won't achieve 10/5 status until after the 2017 season.
  5. I could be mistaken, buy I believe league priority only comes into play after the July 31st trade deadline. I believe for the early part of the season it goes by straight record, which puts the Twins in either 1st or 2nd on the priority list.
  6. I could be mistaken, but I believe wsnydes comments are in regards to Ortiz not Reusse.
  7. You can argue that the the Twins didn't get a good enough return for him, but Ramos was guaranteed to be traded before the 2011 season. Ramos was out of options and was too good to sit on the bench behind Mauer.
  8. Excellent post Jimbo, you should re-post it in the Berrios optioned thread.
  9. While it is true that Fien could've refused the assignment if he went unclaimed, due to his service time he would've forfeited his salary as well.
  10. I have a couple of corrections for you: First, Santana's option for 2019 is a vested option not a club option. It becomes guaranteed if he pitches 200+ innings in 2018 and 400+ innings for 2017-18. Second, Nolasco's option becomes a player option if he pitches 200+ innings in 2017. Third, Milone has 2 Arb years remaining. He doesn't become a FA until 2019.
  11. Doubtful, I think it is more of wanting Santana and Rosario in the lineup. This is the 3rd game with Sano at 3rd (2nd straight since Santana has been activated). It will be interesting to see what they do when Plouffe comes back on Tuesday.
  12. FYI, it has only been 7 days since he last pitched. He last pitched on 4/20 and was scheduled to pitch for Rochester on 4/26 (off day Monday) before he was called up.
  13. Meyer was brought up to fill a need for fresh arms in the bullpen due to the 16 inning game on Sunday. While I agree that he should've been the first call on Monday when Milone again faltered in the 5th inning. That was really the only opportunity to put him in since he has been called up. If Berrios is too amped up tonight and can't find the strike zone and has an early exit, I expect Meyer to be the first guy called in from the BP.
  14. Here is the link: http://www.twincities.com/2016/04/25/minnesota-twins-veteran-of-david-murphy-asks-for-release/ It is the last paragraph
  15. There are a few complaints on here about the lack of a plan that "forced" the team to carry 14 pitchers. With E. Santana being pushed back to to a stiff back, the plan was to call up Duffey to pitch on Sunday on send him back down after the game. With D. Santana set to come of the DL on Monday they optioned Polanco to bring in Duffey and were planning to do a Duffey/D. Santana swap after the game. 2 things happened that changed that plan. First, Duffey got hit by a line drive and can't be optioned until it is determined that he is healthy enough to pitch his next turn. Second, the game went 16 innings and several of or BP arms will be unavailable for the entire Cleveland series. The 2 unexpected events that occurred on the same day forced this dilemma. They'll get down to 13 pitchers once it is determined whether Santana needs to go on the DL and/or Duffey is deemed healthy enough to be sent down. They'll get back to 12 when Plouffe gets activated next week.
  16. There's an article on pioneer press, saying that Duffey can't be optioned until he fully recovers.
  17. True, but it also doesn't hurt to wait 1 more day either.
  18. There are 2 reasons why Duffey hasn't been sent down. First, they are waiting to be sure that Santana will be able to take is turn on Friday. Which will be probably be determined if he does a BP session tomorrow. Second, they have to make sure Duffey is only hurt and not injured. They can't demote an injured player (would have to DL him).
  19. I don't create topics too often. If the performances of the current roster doesn't change, here are some roster changes that I would like to see by May 1: DFA Fien. Most of his outings have been garbage so he should be let go. Option Buxton to AAA. He just looks overmatched. His BA just isn't improving like the rest of the offense is starting to. He should be sent to Rochester to get his confidence back. Move Milone to the BP. So far this year he cruises through the 1st 3 innings and then begins to struggle. Perfect formula for a long man. Call up Berrios When Santana comes off the DL send Kepler back to AAA. If you aren't going to play him send him to Rochester where he will play and develop. Pick up the contract of Mastroianni. He can be the bench player used as a defensive replacement/pinch runner.Starting OF is Arcia, Rosario and Sano with Santana and Mastro as the backups. Rotation is Santana, Gibson, Hughes, Berrios and Nolasco BP is Milone, Tonkin, Pressly, O'Rourke, Jepsen, May and Abad
  20. Twins are only 5th worst in K's this year
  21. I believe that the Twins request to start the season on the road. The try to push the home opener back as far as possible hoping for warmer weather. Of course it really is moot as MLB tries to get every teams home opener completed within the first 7-10 days of the season anyway.
  22. Twins don't skip starters. Nolasco will pitch Exhibition game #2 @ Washington on Saturday. Milone will stay in FM to pitch in a Minor League game on Sunday before joining the team in Baltimore on Monday.
  23. IIRC, when the pulled Sano out of Winter Ball, the intention was to help him acclimate to RF and to manage his weight. He was supposed to lose 20lbs over the offseason and he reported to camp having lost 5. I think it is very reasonable to question his personal work ethic/dedication to the sport.
  24. The movie was okay. Not only did it take to long to set-up for the big confrontation, there were many leaps of faith to get there.
