  1. It sure seems to me that Duran has been awfully hard to watch this season, as a closer. We rarely see a 1-2-3 inning from him anymore.
  2. And I don't think it's a particularly close competition.
  3. A lot of those happening tonight, up and down the lineup, sad to say.
  4. ... Or taking too many close pitches, in an attempt to draw a walk.
  5. He's definitely in a slump, whether or not he wants to accept that fact.
  6. I think that too many are putting too much pressure on themselves, trying to be heroes and hit a 5-run homer than they are playing within the context of a "normal" offense. Hence, they're swinging at most everything that appears to even be close to the strike zone, which seldom ends up in a positive result.
  7. Answer: Strike out on 3 pitches to end the inning. AARGH!
  8. Agreed. Whatever magic they conjured up in mid-season now seems to be largely gone. Keep this up much longer, then they won't need to worry about who's available for the playoffs, because they won't even get that far.
  9. I fully concur with your thought process here.
  10. That would certainly be nice to see, but I have my doubts on whether we'll see anything like that tonight.
  11. I think that Lee should be replacing Julien on the current roster. Eddy definitely needs some straightening out, physically and/or mentally. That's better done in St. Paul rather than in Minneapolis, IMO. And then maybe we can get back Correa and/or Buxton one of these years (or so it seems).
  12. I'm at a loss for words as to why he would want to even consider that option, let alone actually do it. Last year, I could maybe justify that call, but definitely not this year.
  13. We sure picked a fine time of the season to start going belly up, injuries notwithstanding. Double yuck! Even if we somehow make the playoffs, I can see us being swept out in the first series. I'm not being negative here, just realistic.
  14. A very intriguing thought! I like it.
  15. Probably just another attempt at outsmarting themselves. I'm not overly confident that it'll work the way they want it to.
  16. I don't have high hopes for the Atlanta series, even though the Braves are having, at least for them is, a down season. The scheduled Atlanta starters will likely cut through this lineup like a hot knife through butter, with little trouble or effort.
  17. They've had more missed opportunities this season than I could begin to count. Sad part is, I strongly suspect that there will be more before the regular season is over. Just plain disgusting, IMO!
  18. Because it spared some of us from being tempted to watch this garbage can of a game.
  19. Glad I didn't have an opportunity to watch this unwatchable fiasco.
