  1. With emphasis on the term "wildly".
  2. Both teams tried their best to lose. But we tried a little harder and actually succeeded.
  3. Both teams desperately trying to lose this game. And not doing a good job of it.
  4. Best wishes to the young man! One who's had to deal with more significant injuries than anyone his approximate age should ever be forced to deal with. May his MLB dream eventually come true!
  5. I'm surprised that they hadn't done the Fedko move already.
  6. For this organization? That's about par for the course for us
  7. In the same manner that KC does this kind of thing to us a lot, too.
  8. The A's are known for doing this exact thing to us too many times in the relatively recent past.
  9. And that’s asking a lot from this generally puny offense.
  10. What an utterly miserable series this turned out to be. YUK!
  11. You mean you've never heard the baseball gods proclaim to that question: No; NADA; Never; Not a snowball's chance; You're kidding, right?; when he** freezes over; etc.? Plus the A's usually give us fits, just like KC does, regardless of where they play.

  14. We're only "contenders" now due to the generally poor state of the AL this season.
  15. Finding better offensive players, as would finding and using better defensive players would help. More competent starting pitcher depth would also be nice. Seems like a bit too much to ask for in one offseason.
  16. I've thought that we've mostly looked like pretenders since the All Star Game break.
  17. We have more DH types than we know what to do with, most of which are manning a corner outfield spot, and not very well, defensively, most games. And not enough true outfielders.
