  1. But will enough of the rest of the team follow along, with the proper sense of purpose? My answer to that question is a resounding "No", sad to say.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
  3. Or maybe they think the season has been too long and they just want it to end ASAP, by missing the playoffs with ugly loss after ugly loss.
  4. "Did have" being being the operative term.
  5. A classic understatement, if there ever was one.
  6. I wish we had some hitters, like the Reds seem to have. Sigh!
  7. But it sure looks like it will. In this case, the pitching rolled over and died and the hitting was not nearly good enough to cover.
  8. I'd be reluctant to bet against it.
  9. Agreed, but I don't expect it to be how it all plays out.
  10. In my mind, they've already been off for a couple of weeks or so. Problem is, nobody seems willing or able to find or reach the switch turning the lights back on.
  11. I agree with the suggestion, but I strongly suspect that they'll be lucky just to split the 6 games. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't even do that well. A season starting with such promise is slowly swirling right down the toilet and will soon be completely flushed away. Sigh!
  12. With any luck, they won't. Unless they're to embarras themselves even more than they already have. (And I can hardly believe I'm writing that.)
  13. My thoughts exactly, especially the clown show part. I'd love to hear Rocco's lame excuse for this one. On second thought, maybe I don't.
  14. Well, we just gift wrapped that win for KC. I am so disgusted with this Minnesota clown show I could spit nails.
  15. Are you happy now, Rocco? You just gift-wrapped that one for KC.
  16. Rocco trying to be clever again and, as expected, it's beginning to backfire. Surprise, surprise!
  17. To no one's big surprise, unfortunately.
  18. How about "All of the above"? As I've mentioned at other times, I believe that this ownership/front office group has gotten exactly what they were looking when the season started. Enough competence to keep the fan base largely interested until late in the season, when they don't appear to care very much.
  19. Then stick a fork in them because they're likely done.
  20. True, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's how it all plays out. Debatable to me on which option is least desirable: 1) Falling apart at the end of the season and not making it at all, or 2) sneaking in and getting eliminated with only a whimper. I don't if there are any other realistic options available, at least how the overall situation now stands.
  21. As has been quoted so many times before, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". That's why I have nothing to say either.
