    Am unable to watch the games at home(thanks FSN/BSN), but do check the highlights. I did catch a couple innings last night after watching the local high school team play and, to me anyway, there were a couple things missed amongst the hubbub of complaints about Berrios, Donaldson and Simmons seasons. Berrios didn't look bad, the Simmons error really hurt. His stuff looks good, almost too good. His fastball had big movement and his breaking stuff had bigger movement, but the hitters weren't chasing. Simmons, despite the error, made a nice block of the base resulting in a pick-off and is always in position ready to make the play. Donaldson struggles, but went oppo for the sac fly, something the rest of the team seems unwilling (unable) to do. Yes, there are no excuses at this level for dropped catches (Simmons and Donaldson), but I feel some of the negativity leveled at these players in mostly unwarranted. Nobody bats or fields 1.000 or had an ERA of 0.00.

    I think Berrios is going to find himself sadly disappointed in the actual market he thinks is waiting for him. However, I don't think this helps the Twins. Some team will offer $1 - $2 million more to have him as a third starter then the Twins will be able to offer to bring him back.

    So evidently you like Dobnak, Thorpe, Ober, and whoever else gets brought up to toss innings this year! Berrios and Maeda are the only starting pitchers coming back next year, unless Dobnak and Thorpe figure it out at the MLB level. Berrios will not bring back an MLB ready pitcher, nor will Buxton, Maeda or anyone else on this roster. And if you blow up the roster, no FA's will sign here; Simmons, Pineda, Cruz, Happ, Shoemaker, Robles, and probably Colome....all gone after this year. Pretty big turnover already and you want to add one more starting pitcher to the shopping list....

    My issue was with the fact that he stood there for a second admiring it, like he just took Aroldis Chapman or Josh Hader deep. He should have just put his head down and run. It was basically a BP HR, not the game winner in the bottom of the 9th of Game 7 of the WS... Contracts are performance driven, you have to get results to get paid. Don't like the result, perform better. Also, that hit could help him win the batting title at the end of the season, resulting in more $$$, whereas it won't hurt Astudillo in contract negotiations.

    I will agree that the defense is mostly improved and most plays are being made. However, what simple stats don't show is when the errors occur. And not just the errors that show in the stats, but the mental ones. You know, missed cut-off men, throwing to the wrong base, mishandled run-downs, passed balls. These have been occurring late in games quite regularly and have led to far too many extra pitches, extra outs and extra runs.

    35 games, 32 different batting orders. I understand some of this is necessary because of injuries, but I don't see other teams shuffling line-ups as much as the Twins do. A little consistency might let guys get more comfortable at the plate and understand roles better. That, and other than Cruz, Donaldson & Sano (and maybe Buxton when he returns), more guys need to start moving runners over instead of weak pop-ups to the SS.

    Baldelli does not seem to have a feel for the game as it is happening. He seems to rely on analytics and "new age" stats too much. Last night was a good example. Maeda got in trouble and threw a lot of pitches early, but was rolling over his last 3 innings, throwing only 39 pitches while striking out 3 and allowing no hits or walks. And BOOM, here's the hook. Bullpen has to get 12 outs in a tie game against the Sox. End result; 9-3 loss. This is a scenario that has played out time and again the last 3 years, but the offense has been good enough to overcome it the previous 2 years. While it is time for the arms to show up, it is also time for Baldelli to learn how to manage.

    Doesn't look like its gonna happen . This team has no fire in its belly. Somebody (Donaldson or Cruz) should have held a players meeting by now. Errors, bad baserunning, not moving runners over, terrible relief pitching and a manager with seemingly no clue....

    Remember 2006? Started 12-18 and Morneau basically put the team on his shoulders and they went 84-48 the rest of the way. One can dream I guess.

    Gallo turned on a 95 mph fastball that was "on his hip" inside. It was a good pitch, one that not many hitters hit fair, much less HR off of.

    Eliminate Badoo's first 4 games and his line is .155/.194/.397 for an OPS of .590. He may be given back to the Twins by June at this rate.

    2-8 (.250 avg.), 7 BB (9-15, .600 obp) 5 runs scored and 3 RBI. I can see where you thought the bottom of the order wasn't producing.

    Not a fan of keeping Astudillo or Garlick, however, if they outperformed the competition, they earned their spots. That being said, keeping Astudillo allows both Garver and Jeffers to play without fear of losing the backup C, I would use one of them to spell Sano at 1B as both Arraez and Astudillo are too short, in my opinion, to play there, or to give Cruz a day off. If Kirilloff and Rooker show they are ready, both Astudillo and Garlick can be sent down or DFA'd, as both play the OF and can spell 1B and DH and let's face it, a third C is truly a luxury, not a necessity.

    He is going to have to prove he can stay healthy and that he can play defense somewhere. Singles hitting DH's don't play and don't get paid in today's game.

    Lynn's ERA for the season was 4.77, it was 5.10 with the Twins, good times.....

    The Twins big HR guys hit most of theirs to the pull field...dead ball will probably affect more doubles than homers....
