    I could get behind a Semien signing if Rowson was still here, otherwise Didi or Simmons if going FA. Would prefer even one year of Story over any of those three. Otherwise make a run for Kiki and keep the status quo. Bradley and Clippard to fill out the BP, maybe one more if Cruz decides to sign elsewhere. If no Cruz, Brantley would look good at DH and can spot start in the OF. If Odorizzi suddenly gets too expensive, I think Kluber, Bailey and Hill could make 25-30 starts between them and cost about the same without the long term commitment. I have faith in the braintrust, they've done alright so far.

    Imagine if you will, a season so turned that Nick Punto may be the teams MVP despite being 10% below league average AND his teammate won the league MVP....

    Maybe Lynn will come here with a better attitude this time, but his time here sucked. He signed late (for a ton of $$$), came in out of shape and stunk the place up. I liked him and thought it was a good signing, but his time here was not good.

    Not a fan of Semien, his 2019 season is an outlier to the rest of his career, and there were questions concerning "juiced" baseballs that season, so a hard "NO" from me. Paxton or Odorizzi, not both. I would actually like Bailey and Hill in those two spots. I am OK with re-signing Cruz and Clippard, both have value and a proven track record. I also think Soria would be a good signing as long as there is no bidding war, set a price and stick with it. I don't think payroll is going to go up or they would not have DFA'd Rosario. I think they would have signed him and looked for a trade partner at the deadline.

    I thought the point of non-tendering Rosario and not re-signing Cruz was to bring up Kirilloff, Larnach and Rooker, not sign some other teams throw-aways??

    And if the team doesn't take home the trophy the farm system is depleted and another rebuild starts because of lost revenue/high salaries needing to be recouped.

    Through the years we have heard reports that "Minnesota was also in on (fill in the blank)", but ultimately the player was traded or signed elsewhere (usually a larger market team) for less than Minnesota offered. I understand that teams can ask for better prospects (the Twins have had a good farm system for awhile now), and players can opt to sign to be near their home or bigger markets for endorsements and TV exposure, it is a "free market" after all. The Twins need to continue to be active on the free agent and trade markets, while continuing to try to find reclamation projects and developing in house options. I think with a better approach some of the prospects could be developed a little quicker to see what they have in terms of major league ability. Teams like the Cardinals and Cubs have promoted pitchers as relievers in low leverage situations and moved them into higher leverage situations and then into the rotation with a good level of success.

    Buxton is an interesting case study. When healthy he is an All-Star/Gold Glove/MVP caliber player, but he has only played about half of the games he should have at this point in his career. Reminds me of Eric Davis' career at this point, great when on the field but too many injuries keeping him out of line-up. I am hard pressed to find a reason to offer him an extension at this point (and I really like Buxton). Maybe re-visit at this point next year if he proves healthy and productive, but that may inspire him to not sign and test the FA market in 2023, which is lacking in CF options. Tough call and glad I don't have to make it,

    I am not an Odorizzi fan but one of the MLB Network analysts, O'Dowd I believe, said he would sign him based on velo, age, and no arm/shoulder injuries. I guess I say give him an offer and see what he says.

    So based on everyone wanting Rosario gone and the youngsters up, here's your line-up for 2021: C - Garver/Jeffers timeshare - play whoever has the hot hand 1B - Rooker 2B - Arraez 3B - Donaldson SS - Polanco - placeholder for another year LF - Kirilloff CF - Buxton RF - Kepler DH - Sano - I'd prefer to trade him and re-sign Cruz, time to get him off the field Bench - Cave, Wade, Adrianza (not my choice, but a lot of posters want to re-sign him)

    Maybe that same analytics team should have told TK not to PH for him in ahead 2-1 in the 6th in Game 4 then....

    I see a lot of posters eager to cut ties with Rosario, i.e. DFA him because they feel he is not worth the contract he will be awarded and the presence of Kirilloff and Rooker. I say the same thing goes for Sano. If payroll flexibility is the end game, he's gotta go also. I know he's under contract so its not the same, but the reasoning is the same...performance does meet production. Trade him for bullpen/bench pieces and live with the consequences if he does figure it out.

    So let's just have the managers sit in separate rooms with their xbox's or playstations and play the games that way.

    I'm fine with the "human factor" involved with umpiring. It's when it becomes biased or when a pitch that has been called one way all game suddenly changes late in the game. Call it the same for both teams the whole game. I believe it was Joe West that once told a young player that he hadn't earned that call yet. That's the stuff that has to go.

    I think I would move Hill and Thielbar up, and drop Donaldson behind them. It is kind of hard to separate expectations from performance, but Donaldson did not perform enough when he was on the field. Nothing was expected out of Hill other than to be the 4/5 starter, which he filled rather nicely, many other teams would have taken his starts and been very happy.

    Late to the roster party, work got in the way!! I think Wade over Kirilloff would have been a better call, but either way i think its okay. Austudillo being on the roster though can't be overlooked. He doesn't bring anything that can't be covered by somebody else. We should be used to this though, Gardy kept Punto around for no reason other than "he battles his tail off every night".

    I like Donaldson's fire, something the Twins have been missing for awhile. I don't know if there is any connection, but it was the same umpiring crew over the weekend as the White Sox series, very little complaining by players or fans.

    ESPN has ZERO Twins love, the original game was supposed to be Yankees - Red Sox for the 1,000,000th time. If the Sox didn't suck, we'd be waiting another 10 years to see the Twins on Sunday night, which is fine with me because I cannot stand A-Rod in the booth. He always has to turn the conversation to himself.
