  1. It's clear the word is out against our defense - quick passes. The rams made that look too easy
  2. Yeah, I was thinking the same
  3. If we had best detroit, I'd say trap game. But we win by a bunch and get going again.
  4. 20,000 leagues under the sea was the first "classic" book I read. Looks pretty good.
  5. I'd easily give up a first for Lawrence but I suspect they'd want more. Not sure about the other guys' contracts. I don't want to just acquire a guy for this year. I think we'll make the playoffs this year but next year might be the better year for us to do a big trade. Plus, we have a lot of cap room for the offseason.
  6. KC getting Hopkins from Tennessee for a fourth round pick.
  7. Yep, I'm concerned too. I actually thought we'd beat Detroit and then fall in a classic trap game to the Rams. We should win and Thursday night games are harder on the road team. And you would think the Vikings are angry about a loss so they'll focus a bit but, yeah, scary game. As for Tampa, man, what a horrible set of injuries for them. And their next three are tough games. They'll likely be 4-6 at their bye.
  8. I'm not quite as worried as others are, these were two of the best five teams in the game and it could have gone either way. We will be fine. (Harrison Smith looked really old in this game though). 1) I think Darnold was better than many think. PFF actually gave him a pretty high game score (second to Jones on the offense). He wasn't perfect but he did enough. It's also worth remembering this is only his 7th start in the last two years. It's not unreasonable to think he's still seeing new things out there. 2) Ingram was horrible. Darnold was under a lot of pressure all game, straight up the middle. Makes it hard to do a lot with a crashing pocket. I suspect Ingram will be benched soon. 3) Lions were lucky and the refs blew a few calls that really impacted the game. On the second TD, Pace was tackled by their lineman for a pretty obvious hold, for example, and several illegal hits weren't called on Detroit's defense. The Lions also recovered their own fumbles twice. Any of these things change, we likely win. 4) KOC is a huge positive but, as I've mentioned a few times now, his play-calling is not always ideal. The rollout on third and four being the big example this week. We've also had a lot of stupid pre-snap penalties that hurt our drives. That's really annoying and usually a coaching issue. 5) We have a kicker.
  9. I really thought we'd win easily today. Bummer. We certainly had some chances.
  10. Vikes. I thought that we'd be better then many expected because Mullins put up 800 yards in two games against Detroit last year but threw 6 picks. And we still could have won both of them. I figured Darnold is better than that. Now we have a much better defense, an improved running game, and a QB better than Mullins. We're going to win this one with surprising ease.
  11. Gads, Sean Payton or the Saints. Probably will skip this one.
  12. uff-da.
  13. Cooper to the Bills. Bills haven't looked great the last few weeks but this probably helps them more than Adams to the Jets.
  14. A third that could be a second but probably not. Not a horrible trade for a team that thinks it's in a "win-now" situation. Not likely to help much, though. Buffalo is clearly better and they aren't going to win a bunch of road playoff games - if they can even make the playoffs.
  15. I haven't watched enough this year, but do the Seahawks have a good defense? Detroit put up a lot on them.
  16. Hutchinson might be out for a while.
  17. Yvonne Strahovski Kittens French food Finding a 20 dollar bill on the street getting kicked in the junk Ebola Packers
  18. Chicago kind of looks ok against the Jags. I want them to suck.
  19. Didn't see this thread until after I posted in the other, but, nice win gophers.
  20. They follow up the USC win with a victory over UCLA. Not bad.
  21. I suspect less of their posts get deleted. But you're right. The Pohlads are pretty petty people and I'll be glad to be rid of them even though the next owner is likely just as bad.
  22. I stopped reading pretty much at the top. They didn't build target field, they held fans hostage for over a decade, threatened to move and threatened to dissolve the team, until tax players built them target field. They then kept payroll mostly low anyway.
  23. Yeah, I just saw this. Jets are a mess. Most likely to go next - 1) Jags Pederson - I thought he'd be the first to go. 2) McCarthy in Dallas. I don't think he'll last the season if they don't start looking better. 3) Carolina's coach. No idea who he is and didn't feel like looking it up.
  24. Right now - keeping in mind that NFL seasons are long - I think only Baltimore can knock off KC. I thought Buffalo and maybe Cincy could be contenders in the AFC this season but it doesn't look like it now. In the NFC, we're clearly the best team - we have a +63 point differential, no other team is close to that. I think Detroit might be the second best team but some of that is an illusion, although the win against NO is legit. Obviously, injuries will be a major player for all teams. Hopefully, we stay healthy.
