  1. This in itself is proof that Breslow needs off the roster.
  2. The complaint on Breslow isn't that he is used mostly in mopup. The complaint on Breslow is that he gives up too many base runners, hence runs, and K's too few hitters. The complaint is, he's not someone who helps win games.
  3. How about we use the metrics of base runners allowed and runs allowed? Then there are different outcomes between Boshers and Belisle.
  4. I've copied this so I can post it every few days.
  5. How many managers let Gimenez hit in that situation? Down one, Mauer available, late innings, tieing run in scoring position, RH reliever brought in that has to pitch to at least one hitter? Castro available to catch, btw. The over/under is 1.5. I'll take the under. Monumentally bad managing.
  6. We've been reading since at least 2015 that the Twins don't need to find bullpen help, because it's right around the corner. Just be patient, and by next year Reed/Burdi/Chargois/Bard/etc/etc/etc will be here and be teh awesome. Maybe even sooner! It's folly, just as depending on minor leaguers always is. Never depend on minor leaguers to succeed. If one or two or ten even, force their way onto the big league team, great. Too much talent has never been a problem.
  7. If Polanco moved the runners, THEN Molitor would've pinch hit for Gimenez? First, that makes no sense at all, in isolation. You need to send up Mauer there, no matter what. There's a high probability that's your best chance at tieing or taking the lead, very high chance. You have to send up Mauer, and if he's walked, ok. Second, he just negated his own reasoning for not PHing...not wanting to go that long with one catcher. That "reason" is unchanged based on what Polanco does.
  8. That WAS Matt Belisle, and there's no such thing as too much scotch.
  9. "Reference too old" is not likely to be a problem here, friend.
  10. I'm going to Kansas City. Kansas City here I come.
  11. New forum rule: "Twinsnorth49" and "thong" cannot be referenced in the same post. Ever.
  12. Nothing makes me happier Than a haiku jam But you two still leave me sad.
  13. I before E, except after C, And when pronounced as an A, As in neighbor and weigh.
  14. Don't tempt me Arko. My ban finger is getting itchy.
  15. Somehow, you were at least partially to blame, amiright?
  16. As I said last weekend, the Indians may indeed be a little better than the Twins, but not by as much as that series indicated. The dire "we can't compete with this team" proclamations weren't reality. The Twins everyday lineup is good enough to win. And is likely to get better over time.
  17. cranky. You didn't pimp no home run off The Big Train, I can tell you that. Not twice, anyway.
  18. This is where the pitching coach tells Molitor, "He's at 90 pitches, skip. Let's see if he can get through the 5th. Cross your fingers."
  19. No silverware...my house. PS: "ice tea." hahahahahaha
  20. Nevis, MN is in my future. A little big for my tastes, but compromise is part of marriage,
