I think the point being made was, with a bottom three of Buxton, Adrianza, Wilson, it doesn't matter WHO you bring in. You don't have to bring in a reliever. With Buxton struggling, the bottom third of the Twins order is like three NL pitchers in a row. And you are going to struggle to consistently score when a third of your lineup is a black hole.

I'm skeptical Kepler has truly become capable of sustained hitting vs LH pitching, but I'll say this much. He's done a really nice job of it all year so far, and it hasn't looked lucky in the least.

Disagree, actually. When Sano guesses right, he hits it hard. When Buxton guesses right, he swings and misses but comes closer to the ball.

He does generate a "HOF?" thread about as often as he gets a day off, too.

It probably is. I just want more from first base, than some walks and a few soft singles to left. Along with the need for time off every third or fourth game. For 23 million.

I disagree on the above average catcher. He might turn out to be a decent hitter. I think the reason Wilson is playing so much is the manager doesn't like his catching either.

Call up Gordon. Don't care if he's "ready," you can't keep running out this lineup. Trade for a catcher, Realmuto is my choice. Bite the bullet. Should have added a RH hitting OFer over the winter. Might be too late now. So easy to see. Can't really plan for Buxton sucking, or Sano not being able to stay on the field again. But you don't have to sit on your hands and let the season fall apart.

Also a shame that Kepler's single was inches from being a 2 r HR.

I expected that from Buxton. Not a major league plate appearance. Been too many of those. Grossman's tap back to the pitcher with no outs was bad too.

All this talk of the Dakotas made me think of the Sacagewea dollar coin. I wasn't a fan. But I suppose like most people, it's just that I'm opposed to change.
