  1. I'd consider myself pretty hardcore...and I would rather watch 80-82 than 60-102. For one thing, there's zero guarantee of any pot of gold at the end of that rookie rainbow. Just because you play a bunch of rookies doesnt mean there's a payoff down the line. For another, wins matter to me. And I only have so many seasons left to enjoy. I am loathe to see seasons wasted.
  2. I think the baseball industry really needs to take a long hard look at how the training and development of pitchers has evolved. Industry-wide there's been a gradual but long trend of asking less and less, with the hope of avoiding injury. Pitchers throw fewer and fewer pitches, over fewer and fewer innings. This is even more pronounced in the minors where young hurlers are to the point of never being asked to do even half what used to be commonplace. And it seems to me all this has accomplished is even MORE injuries. Quite honestly, I'm not surprised. I cant think of any other athletic activity in which the idea of enhancing endurance is thought to be the result of doing the activity less and less.
  3. Indeed. And Zac Gallen signed with Arizona. Was this article delayed somehow? Otherwise, pretty embarrassing writing.
  4. It's basically unworkable. "Joe Schmoe will pitch 4 innings every fourth day" lasts for maybe one time. Maybe. In the meantime you're short one guy in the bullpen.
  5. I left my city connect jersey on my car's front seat. Some summabitch broke the passenger side window...and left me another one.
  6. And Box seats at the Met in 1965 were $3.50. Don't think we'll see either coming back.
  7. Per VegasInsider: Sports books have Detroit as the ALC favorite at +115 to +135 Over/under 86.5-87.5 You all can trust Pecota, or ZIPs, if you wish. My money's on Vegas being more accurate. For reference: KC +200 to +225 Cle +300 to +450 Mn +700 to +1000 Chi +2500 to +4000 https://www.vegasinsider.com/mlb/odds/american-league-central/
  8. Not sure how this got past the monitors, but I've reported you for profanity. (Not using profanity...causing profanity. ;) )
  9. Best case scenario is the terrible pen gets overlooked because they're bad but rarely blew leads due to rarely being given any. This pen is weak, with absolutely zero depth.
  10. And like Eddie Feigner, when Gio takes the mound, he don't even need a 3rd baseman. Or 2nd baseman. Or an outfield.
  11. If they had a budget of $0 how did they sign Gio Urshela??
  12. Ugh. I guess this is the "more investment" Tom Pohlad was speaking of.
  13. This version of the script "Twins" has always looked cheap. Like a knock-off jersey at a Dollar General. This one is no different, and now looks even cheaper. Fugly.
  14. I guess there's the chance Kopech returns something at the deadline. That's true.
  15. If you're trading Ryan and/or Jeffers, why are you signing Kopech?
