    But it doesn't matter if you can distinguish balls from strikes. It's just if you can distinguish what the umpire thinks is a ball from what the umpire thinks is a strike!

    Agree on the pants, but I like the tops, which reflect the Colo. license plates.. White pants would be much better.

    I agree. But surely none of the starters, most especially Ryan, is going to have a long leash if they aren't dominating. Maeda and probably Ober are there to come in in the early innings if needed and bridge to the shut-down part of the bullpen. I'm more worried about whether there is, indeed, a shut-down part of the bullpen.

    My guess is that he is just getting reps in for the players, especially those who need them. I doubt that much evaluation is expected or happening.

    I'm very comfortable with Ryan in Game #3, as long as we've already won Games #1 and #2.

    Exactly the kind of pitcher against whom we always seem to struggle. He'll probably pitch 5 shutout innings!

    And the A's pick up 7 strikeouts on the league-leading Twins. We really have to keep up our pace!
