  1. My nephews and I watched the original Star Wars last winter and they loved it. However I am debating taking them to the new movie as they are only nine and six. For those who have seen the movie what is the PG-13 rating for? Is it violent? I'm not that big of a fan that I would go and see it and then take my nephews to see it if I think it's okay. Thanks guys.
  2. Glad I'm not the only one feeling old today. :-) Maybe the Twins can bring him back to be the permanent host of Baseball Unplugged! Best wishes to him.
  3. Would rather have them play Atlanta in 2017 so we can go check out the new stadium and go to a Lookouts game. Oh well...
  4. Could we check and see if Scott Klingenbeck is available?
  5. Yeah, even though Starlin Castro frustrates the heck out of me sometimes he still does have more value than Ricky Nolasco. The Cubs could do much better if they wanted to trade him.
  6. Mets and Cubs - as usual, just as the "experts" predicted at the beginning of the season.
  7. The Thursday night game against the Angels - I was babysitting my niece and nephews and they were winning 5-0. When I got back to watching the game after I put the kids to bed it was 8-5. I wasn't even watching what happened (thankfully I suppose) but I was annoyed that they had blown such a huge lead so quickly. Or basically any game this year where our pitchers couldn't stand prosperity. I know you could say the opposite is true too (when the batters can't provide any prosperity) but for some reason the pitching aspect annoys me more!
  8. I was at the last game of the season the year the Rockies went to the World Series (2007 I think?) when the Rockies had to win and the Padres had to lose to force a one game playoff. I remember the random cheers in the middle of an at bat when something on the scoreboard changed. It was a nice fall day at Coors Field and where we were sitting you had a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance - it was so fun and I'm not even a Rockies fan!
  9. I always liked "You could wake up dead tomorrow" because it's a silly way of remembering that life is fleeting. I also liked, "I didn't buy an encyclopedia for my kids - let them walk to school like everyone else."
  10. He has done a great job from the home run on his first pitch in the majors - the interview with his dad was priceless. "Hey Guayama, Eddie Rosario first home run!" Reminds me of when Cristian Guzman was with the Twins - triples are really fun to watch.
  11. He'll be okay once he figures it out...
  12. I was also at the last game of the season, kind of ironic that I ended up going to the first and last games of the season. It was a beautiful night and aside from their loss in the playoffs obviously it was a great first season for them at CHS Field. Already looking forward to more beautiful nights for baseball next year!
  13. Looks like the schedules are the same too - both teams have an off day next Monday. The 1/2 game thing always confuses me. Math is hard.
  14. I may be visiting Toronto in May so of course looked to see if the Blue Jays were going to be in town. They are playing the Twins...in Minnesota. Darn the luck!
  15. Seems like it kind of defeats the purpose though if you have the home field advantage but the first two games of a five game series are on the road. I hope the Saints win tomorrow because I am supposed to go to the game on Sunday and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!
  16. Thanks Craig, that is helpful. I'll have to look at the streaming plan this winter- after baseball season is over of course!
  17. I also have "An Honest Liar" and "No No" in my Netflix queue and have a question. I have a lot of shows that are in my "saved" queue and the availability shows up as "unknown" (as opposed to releases on DVD in April or something). Some of these I've had in there for a couple of years. I only have the DVD plan, do you have to have the streaming plan to see some of them? Or are some of them just unavailable after they leave theatres?
  18. Great article, thanks Seth.
  19. Makes you wonder what he said to the umpire and what the umpire said to him. :-) I was watching the game where Michael Barrett punched A.J. (as I recall it was the Saturday game of the week) and all I could think was Barrett was just doing what a lot of guys wanted to do. The White Sox "Punch AJ" All-Star campaign was pretty good too.
  20. No, no and...no. I was at the game you mentioned too and I'm also a Cubs fan so I can tell you he does that a LOT. It's really maddening and I would rather not watch that all season.
  21. Haha, I just posted about the Ramos/Capps trade in response to the article about Kurt Suzuki before I even saw this. Good to know I'm not the only one still bitter about that one.
  22. Sometimes I really hate watching the Nationals games when Wilson Ramos is playing. Sure would be nice to have kept him...oh that's right, we traded him for Matt Capps, wherever he is now. Yeah, I'm not still bitter about that one... I like Kurt Suzuki though, hope he turns it around. It was pretty fun last year to see him and Perkins close out the All-Star Game at Target Field.
  23. A.J. Pierzynski. Haha, just kidding. Good choices on this list- I am also a fan of Rizzo. I am sad to hear that Aramis Ramirez is retiring after this year, he's been a solid third baseman for a long time.
  24. I will probably be going up north for the weekend but I would encourage everyone to check out CHS Field- it's great!
  25. I can also give my firsthand perspective that CHS Field is great!
