    Question: I haven't really followed the MLB draft. Is it now OK to trade MiLB draft picks? If so, can you package them with MLB / MiLB players?

    Well, I think it depends a lot on what the actual question was. If the question is: "What do you think of the Twins great pitching prospect Jose Berrios" and then shove a microphone into his face, what would you expect him to say. I will say this: His stuff has played out extremely well in the MiLB and he is still learning how to pitch to MLB hitters.

    and hence the discussion with the MiLB staff [ Chad Allen? ] to get him back on the program.

    He did in Spring Training, if memory serves. I don't know why Buxton stopped.

    I don't know if anyone told him to ditch the kick or if Buxton just did it himself. If I were to guess, I'd say the 2nd, but probably not intentionally. Just kinda drifted away from it.

    Smalley was saying yesterday that the MiLB staff was told to get Buxton to use the leg kick again and that the leg kick was the suggestion of Brunansky and that is a prime reason for his hitting success in AAA.

    Thanks Nick and Seth. I was getting worried we would have anything to "discuss" today Yeah, it's turning into another nasty year. I've been mildly cynical about the young players and I think I'm being somewhat vindicated. Sorry about that. I don't really see a veteran on this team that's a real leader. [Dozier was selected]. And the Twins still have a problem with acquiring / buying talent. Everything is just kinda filling in the pothole and not paving a new road. History says, it's time for a change. Some one from outside the organization that has: A vision of acquiring talent from outside the organization The balls to request the Pohlad family make good on their claim to make the money available to build a successful team. Bring in a new set of scouts for an honest evaluation of the MiLB system.Rob Antony, Brad Steil and Jack Goin, IMHO, are not part of the problem. Contract negotiator, Head of the MiLB system and a advanced-stats guy. They supply info to the GM. I don't honestly see a GM-type in the group. Having said this, I have my doubts that the Pohlad's [son's of a banker] would spend the money on an outside GM replacement.

    I'm happy they resigned Ryan O’Rourke. I like it when a guy get's put into a tough position, delivers and tells the coach he can do more. I like that!

    I'm with Monkeypaws, but I go further. Or I'm just being cynical. I think the MiLB prospect rankings should somehow be reclassified. Or taken with a modicum of skepticism. Physically gifted Rookie League or A-ball players can easily overwhelm the less gifted. Flip side: Players in their late 20's can overwhelm younger player, MiLB and MLB. I have no way how you could create rankings this way. Maybe a new sabermetric? Or one that's already out there, somewhere, over the rainbow?

    On any other day or week, I'd like the new lineup. Nothing like trying to shake thinks up. However...... I'm not convinces either Dozier or Plouffe are completely healed. Haven't seen Dozier, but Plouffe looked pretty stiff yesterday. I would have gone with Park 3rd and Arcia cleanup. Danny Santana has looked pretty beat the last few days. Lucky TR called up a back OF and JUST IN TIME!

    Really. Nolasco has an entitled attitude, but you wouldn't say the same thing about Rosario and Sano? I'd say this is an assumption on your part, not mine. Rosario is not hitting at all, yet gives off an air like he doesn't really care. And I don't know what Sano is thinking the outcome will be with that article in the St.Paul paper and the constant attitude he's giving towards umpires.

    Just a gut feeling: I think some of the young players have a sense of entitlement. They've had their 1 year in the MLB's and think the job is theirs no matter what. Tom Kelly would never have allowed that to happen.

    Yes, I found it disgusting With the resent spate of injuries and the call by owner and management that changes are needed, who are the players in the next round to be promoted? And, yes, I'm ignoring contracts for now. Duffey put in a strong perfomance yesterday, Berrios shook off a poor 1st game performance and I like what I've seen in Polanco. So, who are the guys who are the guys who can take over at catcher, 3rd base [Plouffe seems to be still recovering], middle infield has turned into a revolving door and CF, where Santana has played well enough, but seems to be running out of gas.

I know you really like Buxton, but this is overboard There was a reason management brought up Mastroianni and Buxton is it. Show me more walks. Still a little surprised by the O’Rourke demotion. I thought he did pretty good. I have no idea what the Twins are doing with Polanco. The injuries are piling up, so he may actually get a chance this time. "Casey Fien and Tommy Milone were played on irrevocable waivers and those waivers end on Saturday afternoon at which point they will be off of the 40-man roster." Happy all the way down to my shorts!
