  1. Lee is your every day shortstop, that is the decision that was made on opening day. He has done enough to hold the position until another proven option comes along or they want to promote Culpepper. Moving him for a utility player sends the wrong message and won't make the team better. If you want to move Keaschall, do it in the offseason unless it is the outfield where he has at least some experience.
  2. The last seven names you list they are not relying on, even when they have had a chance to bring them up. So until they are in the big leagues and learning how to play up here I won't consider them being relied on.
  3. I guess you could just put all the names of your roster on a slip of paper and put them in a hat. Then pull a name out for each position. Buxton should be able to catch or even play 2B since it is no big deal to move players around.
  4. You are assuming, he will play well. He couldn't even start over Kreidler yesterday. So I think the Twins are already showing their level of belief in him.
  5. I would rather see him in the outfield over Kreidler or Outman. Give him a shot, it's not like there is a stable of all stars you are sitting to give him a shot. Maybe he crashes and burns, or he might show he can be serviceable. Why not find out. Stop deluding yourselves into thinking this is a contending team.
  6. He has only had one good year since 2017 and he did make the all star team in 2023,. So it has actually been two down years. He could not get one team to give him a major league deal even at a minimum salary. I think teams have already shown how they value him. I am not even sure what kind of playing time he will get with the Twins. He didn't even start at short yesterday for Lee. A contending team is not going to look at him as a missing piece. People on this board like to get excited about fringe players, I would love to see some players that can contribute on a regular basis.
  7. If we make the playoffs, we will be one and done. I would like this team do something that sets up for more sustained success. I don't want any more innings given to Garcia or Banda at this point and don't keep churning thru the waiver wire for scrap heap for relievers. Even though they may have found something in Gomez. I also don't want AB's going to Gray, Arcia, Kreidler, Outman or Clemens on a regular basis. Yes Sabato and Fedko are getting older but are they late bloomers, let's find out what you have. Bring up Culpepper, I would even consider Ross at this point. I am not convinced when healthy Emma and Jenkins will be up here. Emma outplayed Outman in spring training and he was sent down. And stop with the bulk reliever nonsense in AAA, develop starters and relievers. Start this now, so you know where your holes are for next year and you don't have to go dumpster diving next offseason.
  8. No but they will lose between 75 and 85 games. That is playing with a fair number of AAAA players and vets that will not be here next year. So why not rip off the band aid, even if you lose 10 more games, you are gaining more information about your team and where you are at for next year. Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward.
  9. Fedko and Sabato would have to be added to the 40 man as well. It will be either Mendez or Gonzalez called up. They are the only two options on the 40 man.
  10. We are not talking about the 2023 Arcia, he has fallen off greatly the last two years. He couldn't even get more than a minor league deal this offseason and couldn't beat out Gray in spring training. He is very much on the downside of his career and will not have trade value, that is a pipe dream.
  11. I am not sure what you base this statement on. First he has only been gone for two games and they are 1-1. Also he didn't look like he was sulking in the dugout, he always seemed to have a smile and seemed to be happy for his teammates. Now if there was something going on outside the cameras, none of us knows but we haven't heard anything. Piling on Lewis like this is getting a little old. Yes his performance has been very poor, but do we have to just make stuff up.
  12. Culpepper is at 3B again tonight, second game in a row. So they want him to refine his defense at SS but yet play him at another position. It appears they are trying to develop another utility player, you can never have enough of them.
  13. I am not the one who brought up of number of games.
  14. So what is the magic number of games that they need to play in AAA.
  15. But they also have said they want him to refine his defense at short. So why keep moving him around again. This is why I want a new front office that can set a more clear and winning strategy.
  16. Zoll is the one that says he is here for his leadership, not me. Just because he has seen big league hitting doesn't mean he can hit it.
  17. I know he has to say something, but he is starting to sound like Falvey. And it is really hard to believe anything he says.
  18. How many leaders do you need, this is not a young team.
  19. We have Caratini for next year, that was the vision of the great leader by the name of Derek Falvey.
  20. He has only been hitting for the past week. This is who Clemens is, he will have a hot streak, but then you have to live with his flyouts and strikeouts which is happens a lot when he is not going well. He will not have trade value even for a bag of balls.
  21. On May 9th, he had a batting average of .184 and OPS of .637. One six game hitting streak has raised that. And now we are saying he deserves to be an every day player. I don't mind riding the hot hand. but Clemens is a bench player who should play 3 or 4 days a week. Because of the roster construction he is being deployed as the regular first baseman. Bell was actually signed to be the regular first baseman. This just means Clemens has a pretty low bar to clear to look like a regular. There is a reason he hasn't been an every day player in his career. I don't really mind him on the roster but we are not going to win with him as an every day player. At some point I want this organization to either develop quality players or bring them in. And stop dumpster diving on the waiver wire claim heap.
  22. They need to let him just work on his hitting. If they want him to change positions wait until the offseason. Let's not overload him in St. Paul and let him stay focused.
