  1. I would like to set the bar higher. Having a guy with over 300 AB'S and 42 RBI does not scream championship team to me.
  2. And that is why we are a .500 team, we won't do anything to raise the talent level.
  3. I am at the game and I didn't come to see 8 pitchers
  4. When is Willi getting punished when he makes one of his bone headed plays.
  5. No Lee again today, two days in a row. Does this organization have any kind of plan.
  6. Bader needs to be a role player, that is how he brings the most value. He will always give good defense, but on offense he will have days like yesterday but also a lot of 0 for days as a regular. He has had one good month with offensive numbers and that was the month he had the least amount of AB's. He needs to be a forth outfielder, not an every day player. This team needs to either develop or find players that can play every day that can produce on a consistent basis. This is why we have the long losing streaks and a winning streak thrown in when everything clicks for a few games. And now the one guy who has been producing on a regular basis is sitting on the bench for the second game in a row. You are not going to win consistently with Bader and Castro playing every day.
  7. There was no reason to pull Sim, take the training wheels off. This team can not develop pitching.
  8. If he can't play more than one day in a row then he needs to be on the IL. IMO, I think his running is more mental. His instincts are to run full bore like any athlete, they are telling him to not do that and be careful running. He has to figure out how to do that and make that his natural movements.
  9. This organization is so frustrating, this hip issue is not a new injury with Ober. He pitched four days ago, they need to be more decisive. Now they took one potential replacement off the board by pitching Adams yesterday, if they considered him an option. They do this with free agency, the trade deadline, injuries, they are not decisive and it feels like every time they then are forced into a decision that is not always the best one. And my other rant, if Lewis is up here, play him. I get giving him a day off every two or three days but one day. That sure isn't a recipe for him to find his swing and get comfortable. And yes I know most are down on Lewis, but I am still a believer and want to see him succeed.
  10. I am not sure he complained to the media, he talked about his concerns of potentially hurting the team because he wasn't prepared to play the position. It was reported in spring training he did some work in the offseason and even during spring training at 2B. It feels like it was more of a timing issue, this type of move should be done during the offseason.
  11. Wallner or Larnach would be better options. Willi's defense has not been as good the last two years as it was in 23. Just because you can play different positions doesn't mean you play them wel.
  12. Willi can not play RF, stop putting him out there.
  13. Yes I thought Lee should have been on second and was surprised he wasn't. France did this against Seattle where he didn't go to third on a ball hit to right center, everyone thought he should have gone. But this team has played station to station for the last 6 years and the philosophy starts with the manager. He says he wants the team to be more aggressive but they have not been an aggressive base running team. I hope it will start taking hold, I am willing to not be upset with Lee for last night as long as he doesn't continue to do that when the opportunities are there.
  14. I have been following this team since the late sixties and under this regime is probably the first time I don't really don't understand what their operating goal is. The early 80's they gave way to the kids and let them grow together. Ryan developed players, made some smart signings and trades because he could spot talent even in the lower levels of the minors, in his first stint, the second didn't go as well. But in this Falvey era, they are constantly bringing in filler type players on one year contracts that don't really move the needle and are not difference makers. And they are not developing difference makers. They talk about doing things different, such as the pitching approach in the minors. And I would give them more rope if they were more successful. They have basically been a .500 team under Falvey and have made no serious run at a championship. It's great to win the division but I want to see at least a chance at more. Contrast that with the Wolves, I have not always agreed with the moves Connelly makes but they have made two serious runs at a championship and are building a team to continue doing that. Are the Twins anywhere near that level, I don't think so.
  15. True, but I also remember Rocco saying a few weeks ago that Wallner will be getting regular AB's against LH pitching and to the best of my memory he has not done that. That to me is frustrating and makes me wonder how the players are responding to him.
  16. I want Wallner up in that situation in the 6th inning. If it's the 8th or 9th, I can be convinced to pinch hit but now we lose his bat later in the game against a tougher right handed pitcher. You can't manage for every situation, you need every day players and if Wallner isn't good enough then move on. And no I don't want that to happen. But you can't have a team of platoon players, the rosters are not big enough.
  17. Pinch hit for Wallner but not for Clemens, someone please give a logical reason for this.
  18. Leave Festa in there, Rocco put the computer away and watch the game.
  19. The problem is though under Rocco ball we are going to need at least 4 relievers. So who will get the save opportunity Sands or Coulombe. I have to believe Duran, Jax and Varland are out. This is why Ryan should have come out for the 7th inning last night, then you would have Varland available tonight.
  20. Your top 3 relievers are probably unavailable and yet they are in a rush to SWR because they won't let him face a lineup a third time. Take the training wheels off, he has been here a year and a half, it is time. This is where the quick hook hurts, it's the next game or games that are impacted more than the current game.
  21. Clemens has been a pleasant surprise and has had his moments. And he should stay on the team, but when everyone is healthy he needs to be a bench piece. He can provide a key hit and some good defense but he should be not starting ahead of Lee, Lewis or Keaschall when everyone is back..
  22. And why are they always secretive about these extensions. The last time Rocco was extended, it took a year and a half for it to become public. Falvey talked to the media last night and only Dan Hayes reported this little nugget. That leads me to believe it was leaked and Falvey when given the opportunity to announce it, never did. Do they really have that little regard for the fan base, this is a rhetorical question.
