  1. Look at his numbers since he has been playing more, they have been going down because he is getting exposed.
  2. RPR, did I say something factually incorrect for you to give a thumbs down.
  3. He is a career sub .200 avg hitter, not sure how that is league average.
  4. Culpepper can't get healthy soon enough. Of course, they will probably play him at 2B and 3B as well so Kreidler can get AB's.
  5. Don't worry we have Vic in the game, he will carry us to victory. He has been reverting back to his true self in July, there is no need to force him into the lineup.
  6. I really wish they would just leave Lewis at 1B. The goal should be to find players that can excel at one position, not have everyone moving around.
  7. A ball hit into the gap and you want him to jog. Then if there would have been a play on him at second he would have been roasted for not hustling.
  8. You tag up when there is a reasonable chance of the ball being caught, there was a 50/50 chance of that ball being caught. But I get it, the vets do no wrong and the younger players are always the ones making the mistakes.
  9. Bell was sitting basically on 2B, he wasn't halfway, that is where the mistake began. Caratini caught up to him, then he jogged to third and then decided to turn it on. Yes maybe Lee should have seen where Caratini was but most runners would have done the same thing he did in that situation.
  10. So you would fine one guy for hustling and one for jogging, that is a great message to send to the team.
  11. As a fan I don't have to accept it. I can choose to criticize the team in any respectful way I wish to.
  12. Yes, Bell played that perfectly sitting on second base and then heading for home.
  13. That is not a good thing to me if he is. He knows nothing about evaluating players or what is needed to run the day to day operations. But it also doesn't mean the previous executive owners were this way, especially Jim. I know Tom P. has said he is trying to learn about the business but he needs to hire people who know what they are doing and let them do their job.
  14. The plan includes what they want to spend. Did Joe come to Falvey and say hey let's sign Correa. No he didn't because he wasn't responsible for day to day. The managers or in this case the VP of Baseball Ops is responsible for saying what he needs to run the team and set his roster. The owners review and say yay or nay. They don't sit there with a dart board and say oh you can have this amount. There are many other expenses other than player salaries that need to be factored in.
  15. Yes he has an option left but he will also be 27 next year. Will there be the same situation next spring where he blocks younger players like ERod and Jenkins if they have the better spring. This happened this year where is was preordained that Outman was going to be on the roster even though he was outplayed by both ERod and Roden. I wouldn't give him another year and if Jenkins is ready this year and we want to improve the roster he needs to up here in place of Roden. And remember we need AB's available at AAA as well, so do you want a 27 year old blocking Gonzalez, Mendez and the others.
  16. Ok, so you are upset with ownership, I get it, But you can't even separate fact from fiction. So when the budget was $160m, Falvey was supposed to present what a $200 to S220m budget. That is not reality in any business model to expect that kind of increase. You can build a team and have playoff success with lower budgets and that has been proven. I mean Falvey signed Bell to be the starting first baseman, that is enough to show I wouldn't trust him with a lemonade stand much less a multi million dollar budget.
  17. Ok so they haven't spent above the median payroll, that I will take as a fact. You do understand that the head of baseball operations brings to ownership the plan and ownership says yay or nay. Have you sat in on those conversations and know for a fact that the Executive Owner at the time said no to those requests. If you weren't then you can't say as a fact that ownership won't spend money. As I said before I doubt Ryan went after the free agents, that is the way he operated and was successful in his first stint as GM. You still won't say how much money they need to spend, You just say trade for all these people, resign Jeffers and Ryan and that it will cost a boatload of money. What is the magic number. They aren't going to match the Dodgers or the New York teams. There are other ways to build a team, and other GM's have figured that out.
  18. It sounds like Shelty is blaming Lee for the base running cluster. Typical for this organization, the young player gets the blame and the vet gets the cover.
  19. That is an opinion, what is the amount that you want them to spend. They were up to $160m, now should they have right sized the payroll, I get if you disagree with that. They did pony up money for Mauer and Puckett before them. Quite honestly I don't think Ryan wanted to spend on free agents, he was more risk averse, and could identify talent better than the current group could. But we don't know what the conversations were, so to say they won't spend money is an opinion, the only way it becomes close to fact is if you put a number behind it and say you know that the GM or President of Baseball Operations was denied the ability to spend that amount.
  20. Preilipp isn't eligible to come off the IL until later in the week.
  21. Radio said probably Paredes, but they did want him to get an inning this weekend.
