  1. And they had already traded for Outman, so they just continued to add which made it all the more baffling.
  2. Falvey has never valued the bullpen and always operated as if he could plug and play guys into a role in the bullpen. This started when he traded Pressley with a year and a half of control with no replacement ready. I don't believe that they thought it would be a year or two, his prior actions don't support that.
  3. They were throwing about 70 to 80 pitches last year IIRC. This is why they haven't been able to go very long when getting up here. I know there are injuries, but you have to have someone ready to step in if needed. Paredes is a great example, they started to stretch him out and then they pulled back.
  4. I get it, I am trying to figure it out. I was in Cedar Rapids and saw Quick pitch, his command was not good, but the strike zone seemed to be tight. But he threw three innings and they pulled in a close low scoring game. That is where I saw the stat about the innings pitched. And shortyly after that game they promoted Quick. So I am not sure what their goal is anymore.
  5. The baseball operations needs to be blown up, maybe the scouting director can stay, he seems to know what he is doing. But this team has no plan or knows how to identify and develop talent.
  6. I want a baseball guy first who knows how and when to use analytics. Falvey was a numbers guy and there has been no balance. And Zoll seems to be the same.
  7. Yes with every pitcher from what I can see looking at the box scores. Very seldom does anyone throw into the 5th inning and at 60-70 pitches they are pulled. They are doing this at every level. In Cedar Rapids their starters are averaging 3.1 innings per start which is the lowest in the Midwest league. I could understand for some younger guys, but I don't see them developing any starters to be ready to pitch up here as a starter.
  8. This is the biggest reason I want Zoll gone and new leadership on the baseball side, because I am not convinced he is going to operate any differently than Falvey.
  9. Interesting point from Provus, Cleveland has 7 rookies on their team and have a better record. Maybe playing all these AAAA types isn't as productive as letting the rookies play and learn. Of course you have to develop them as well.
  10. Maybe keep Paredes stretched out instead of moving him back and forth between the bullpen and starting. He actually gave us a couple of good outings and went into the fifth inning which is acceptable for a fifth starter.
  11. True, but at least if we had some pitching it makes watching a little easier.
  12. We have no starters in St. Paul, we better hope Preliepp can hold up, because they have no starters down there. And we will be seeing a lot more games like this if he doesn't. They are throwing a bullpen game in the first game of the week.
  13. Were you in a hurry to get Nance or Anderson in there. In fairness to Shelty, he has to choose between crap and crappier.
  14. Better get Gray back up here, he's raking in St. Paul, got a double in his first at bat tonight.
  15. That one was definitely over the top. But that's the problem for me, they are creating so many that when you have one like tonight, I am tuning out. If they did them less I would probably react a little differently.
  16. Jenkins is ready to be up here to continue his development for this year and the future. Holding him down especially if it is for Roden is to me mismanagement.
  17. What has he done to earn this extended run. In nearly 200 ab's in the major leagues he has a batting ave. 191 and OPS of .544. You seriously going to take AB's away from Keaschall or Larnach for that kind of production. If you are trying to force someone into the lineup it should be a top prospect like Jenkins. Roden was not a good pickup and he is only taking ab's away from players who have more of a future with the Twins.
  18. They ruled two errors on the play, one on Messick and one on Bazanna.
  19. Everything else is ruled a hit in today's baseball, I was very surprised they ruled an error. I am sure it will be changed at some point.
  20. Wallner hasn't been able to sustain any success up here and probably is done with the Twins. ERod is out of options and will have to be on team next year unless he gets another option year due to his injury this year. Jenkins should be up here before Roden. His ceiling is as a fourth outfielder, don't force playing time for someone with that profile.
  21. Base hit up the middle, way to go Royce, at least that is what it will look like in the box score.
  22. There is no reason to send Keaschall down, he does need to learn how to challenge. No I don't like everyone moving around, it keeps hurting them.
