  1. If that is your standard then Fedko and Wallner have better averages and OPS numbers. HR's and RBI's are about equal on a per game basis same as K's. So then why aren't they up here. And I am not advocating for them, but you have to perform when you get up here and Roden hasn't or has Wallner been able to do it consistently.
  2. I think Shelty is having an impact on the clubhouse. But it also feels like Buxton is becoming more of a leader than in the past along with Pablo. I think Buxton going to Cleveland last year after all the trades while on the IL and being with the team really helped the morale of the clubhouse.
  3. I don't disagree, but Roden is not a young player anymore either. Depending on who he is blocking, I would not 100% commit playing time to him. I don't think they are contenders either, I said if they think they are. But I think there are other players that should get time before Roden.
  4. I am looking at the big picture, and starting his development in the big leagues is better than waiting until later next year or 2028. Assuming the whole year is cancelled is not where I am at. There may be games cancelled but there is too much money at stake that there will be a season even if it is shortened. And then everyone will say why bring him up for a shortened season. Sitting for two months I think is negated by him being up here and starting his development to know what he needs to work on.
  5. Analytic sites can peg whatever number they want, the reality is where they are at. Jenkins should be up here now and Emma probably will be either September or next year. Trading Larnach and replacing him with Roden is foolish if they are trying to contend, which I don't think should think that. But you still have a glut of outfielders and I am not in favor or prioritizing Roden any more than 6th or 7th on the list.
  6. Again we have 12 outfielders that need AB's between here and St. Paul. Who becomes the priority, the one that is almost 27 and has yet to make the most of his opportunities in the major leagues or do you give AB's to the younger players with more potential upside.
  7. That is a fair comp with Larnach but the one difference is there was no one coming up behind Larnach to push him. They could have easily taken ERod or Roden out of spring training as they both outplayed Outman. The point is how do you give him the runway currently, trade Larnach to play him, that to me is even more shortsighted. Are you going to take AB's from Keaschall who has been hitting over .300 in the last month. Trade Bell and move Larnach to DH, not a fan of Bell but if they truly they are contenders then that is not a good move. Don't forget he was given a month to establish himself and he didn't. Again this trade didn't make sense with all the other similar players that are younger. It feels like we are forcing him into the lineup because we traded for him. Now if you trade both Larnach and Bell, I could see giving him some runway, but personally it would only be for the month of August.
  8. Look at his career numbers, not this year, nothing is saying he is going to be a star. He has not been able to take advantage of opportunities given to him and I don't think they should force one for him now. I am not replacing Keaschall or Larnach with Roden. And quite honestly if Larnach is traded I would rather have Jenkins up here. Roden is going to be 27 before next season, his window is starting to close.
  9. I get the TD Hype Machine comment, but Keaschall has been producing at the plate. I don't like saying someone at 23 will always be a DH. With his athleticism I have to believe he can become league average or close at a position. But I do believe you have to give him some time and I think he is someone you want to give that time to. Now if three or four of our outfielders in St. Paul breakout between now and the end of next year it would be reasonable to move on if he doesn't improve his defense.
  10. He has had almost 200 ab's in the major leagues and his batting average is .193 and OPS of .547. These numbers don't scream that you take AB's away from more productive players or hold back your #1 prospect. He has not been able to take advantage of his stints with us or Toronto and he is running out of time to show it. There are guys coming up behind him that this sample size regardless of how big will not be enough for him to hold them off. He had regular playing time with Toronto at the beginning of last year and did not grab hold of the opportunity given and then they traded him. I am not sure where that merits him getting playing time over others.
  11. And his batting average is .200, he has had one good game with the walk off hit. This profiles to a good 4th outfielder type, results do matter.
  12. Definitely think he can be a solid backup, he has come in and helped the team every time he plays.
  13. And go with Jackson and Cardenas at catcher, there is no way you can trade both. Jackson can be a solid backup but is not the guy to be the #1 catcher.
  14. I do believe your are in the minority, because it is not all stats. How does he look, what things to work on. The reports I am seeing from people who have seen Jenkins think he is ready.
  15. Maybe 27, you don't want to burn his options too soon.
  16. That is the one I think we should see. They moved Lee in preparation for this move. And when you have Ryan Kreidler starting there, then he should be up here. At least with Jenkins, you have guys who are producing that would need to be moved or have their AB's reduced. Kreidler is a good utility guy but he shouldn't be blocking one of your top prospects if he is healthy.
  17. This makes sense on the trades, I still think it would help Jenkins with his development for 27 and forward by being up here. I do think they could get an A ball type player for Larnach at the deadline and that would help clear the path.
  18. Or it provides a spark to a team in need of one, which I think this team could use.
  19. I do not believe in Roden as any more than a forth outfielder, and I am not the only one. There seems to be a narrative since we traded for him, that he has to be a starter. He has played 9 games and has gotten a hit in 3 of them before tonight.
  20. Why have major league teams brought up rookies and top prospects during the season. This comment makes no sense.
  21. Did Falvey get hired somewhere, that is the only way you're getting anything for Roden.
  22. Isn't this a board to discuss ideas, your comment seems to be taking a shot at my opinions. I as a fan have invested time and money into this team and I have a right to my expectations of the team.
  23. So your answer is to stop playing rookies. Maybe start holding the player development side of the organization responsible for not having players ready. And you maybe the only person who says he has no upside.
