  1. He didn't turn a double play that Gray would have.
  2. Gray would have turned that double play, just sayin'.
  3. You can't pinch hit Kreidler here, our defense will be weakened up the middle for the last two innings.
  4. May need to cut back on the coffee by a couple of cups.
  5. You can't lose Gray's defense, you need to leave him in there regardless of his plate appearances.
  6. I don't think it is all on Rocco, this is an organizational decision. Zoll is no different than Falvey as that is the side of baseball he came up under and he is following the same playbook. I think Shelton pushes back more than Rocco which is what I like to see.
  7. This is an example of analytics gone wild, get away from the computer and watch the action on the field.
  8. Yes I don't disagree but they are playing Gray there more, which I don't know if anyone understands why.
  9. This is the part that still frustrates me, Lewis, Keaschall and Lee were performing where they were expected to perform and hadn't regressed since the beginning of the season. So either the moves should have been made in spring training or next off season. This is on the organization for poor planning as much as the players. And they have basically replaced Lee with someone who is grades below him defensively, so where is the upgrade.
  10. This is what happens when you play musical chairs with defensive positions. You have to live with the learning curve. Too bad we don't have a guy who can play CF in St. Paul.
  11. Luke looked like someone who hasn't played much in the outfield on that one.
  12. Don't forget these guys do have lives, they could have had other commitments including family. And the team is preparing to play a game, they have never come out on the field for the ceremony.
  13. But remember the team is putting the emphasis on defense.
  14. But I would prefer a more solid plan rather than hoping that you hit on six players. If that is the best Zoll can do, he should be gone tomorrow. We have no reliable guys in the bullpen with any sustainable history, other than Rogers and he is almost past the point of expiration.
  15. It is too bad we are relying on Zoll for this draft. This is where Tom P. has failed this organization, he should have brought in at least a senior advisor. Zoll is not ready for this moment and I hope he doesn't try and get cute.
  16. Sounds like a lot of hope, that is a wonderful plan that every organization in every industry bases their plans around.
  17. I posted a similar comment about Gray in the article about him, but today's lineup is proof that Kreidler is not going to be our everyday shortstop until Culpepper is healthy and ready. Gray is starting for the second day in a row at SS and they are going to ride primarily with him. The Twins obviously think Gray has something to offer and that is that he bats LH. They do not appear to value competence, just what side of the plate they hit from. The sooner Zoll is gone and replaced by a competent baseball executive will be too soon. This is analytics gone wild.
  18. This article has not aged well at all, he is starting again for the second straight game. The Twins obviously think Gray has something to offer and that is that he bats LH. They do not appear to value competence, just what side of the plate they hit from. The sooner Zoll is gone and replaced by a competent baseball executive will be too soon. This is analytics gone wild.
  19. Six AB's and four strikeouts in his last two games when he was obviously pressing after not getting an AB for 12 days. Look I don't know if Fedko is a AAAA type or if he can be a productive player in the big leagues but he was given no real chance. And he isn't the first they have this done this to. I would like to see everyone utilized on the roster and he wasn't. We don't know anything more today about Fedko than we did when he first came up, when he actually looked a little better at the plate.
  20. I think the players liked Dick better than we did. And I think the Twins work to get all the Hall of Famers here if possible.
  21. It was when Mauer made the Hall of Fame with Beltre, I was at the game when they honored Mauer and there were numerous former players, both teammates and players before him. I also happened to be at the game when the Rangers honored Beltre, and Pudge was the only former player there. The Twins seem to keep their alumni connected.
  22. We have many options for DH with Jeffers back, I don't see him back until he can play the field.
  23. I will be shocked if Buxton is back next week. They are going to be ultra conservative and he will need to show he is healthy for at least a week before he is allowed near the field.
