  1. Gasper is 29 years old, there is a reason he hasn't had a shot in the majors up to this point. He is a catcher without a position defensively. He was a butcher at 2B, he made Julien look like a Gold Glover over there. I am not saying McCusker would be our savior but give him a chance, Maybe he could give us a jolt for a couple of weeks, my expectations wouldn't longer than that best case scenario. But Gasper just doesn't belong up here.
  2. They played Gasper in the OF yesterday, I think they are preparing to call him up if Bader goes on the IL. He is a not a major league player, he can hit AAA pitching and that is it. Call up McCusker and see if he can give a jolt to the lineup.
  3. Either move Sim to the bullpen or AAA, Festa or Matthews need to be in the rotation next time thru.
  4. And he hadn't played since Saturday before that. Why isn't he going in the lineup for game 2.
  5. Let's not make Santana into something he's not. It was a decent signing but led to no postseason success and led to us having to sign France this year. They didn't give Miranda a chance to find out if he could handle the regular 1B job. Maybe if he showed that he couldn't they would have signed a real upgrade this year other than France. Santana leading the team in HR's and RBI with 23 and 71 says more about the rest of the team than Santana. Those were decent numbers but when leading the team not so much.
  6. This is no where similar to the Devers situation. Lee has not complained that I have heard. But the Twins and Rocco have this philosophy that players are like chess pieces and can just be moved around. There is something to be said for letting players getting comfortable and not have them guessing where they will playing from day to day. I think it would be beneficial for Lee to get comfortable at one position and see how he progresses.
  7. Fun game to watch and glad they won. Now let's take it to the Giants this weekend. They need to be competitive against the better teams to avoid a repeat of last year. Lee looked rough at 2B yesterday. Rocco quit moving him around, keep him at 2B. If Lewis needs to DH, play Castro or Bride at 3B. Not everybody can move around, let Lee get comfortable and settled in at one position.
  8. And they are bad decisions at the rate Rocco makes them. Yet you want to blame only the players.
  9. Did the players play in on their or did Rocco call that from the dugout not once but twice. Did France go on contact yesterday on his own. These are just two examples of Rocco not giving his players a chance to be successful. Yes Correa needs to play better, but he is not the reason we have the record we do.
  10. And whose job is it to make sure the younger players continue to develop so they perform the way they should. Whose job is it to put players in a position to succeed. In my opinion that is on Rocco and he and his staff does not do these things well.
  11. I have seen enough of Paddack, put Festa in his spot and move him to the bullpen.
  12. Rocco, throw away your spreadsheet. Quit playing the infield in every time there is a runner on third. Sometimes you have to give up a run to get an out. Instead you just cost us two runs.
  13. Who do you think has the responsibility to hire these additions. It's Falvey of course and he hasn't done it yet so what makes you think it will happen in the future. They made Levine a scapegoat for the front office at the end of last season and still didn't make any significant moves in the offseason. Let's see what France and Bader do over the course of a whole season not one month before they are considered a success. Falvey needs to go because they need a fresh review of the whole organization and that won't happen until he is gone which won't happen unless we get new ownership.
  14. They are not going to option Lewis to the minors. He can only be on a rehab assignment for so many days, I believe 20 before he has to be activated. At that time he will be up here, so let's not drag it out and giving AB's to these vagabond veterans they are throwing at us.
  15. Royce needs to be here tomorrow. He is better than our four bench players and Julien. Bring up McCusker or Prato, they have to do something. This is not a major league lineup and you just can't keep running it out there and hope for different results. And yes I know Royce may not be a savior but he is a better then a third of the players on the roster now.
  16. Casas could have been called out for interference, he was running outside the lane the whole time.
  17. At this point, call up McCusker, we need offense, at least find out if he can provide it. You know Clemens and Gasper won't.
  18. How can you take an organization seriously when they run Gasper out there as the DH, he doesn't even belong in the major leagues.
  19. Today he threw one fastball to the 2, 3, and 4 hitters. He threw mostly his sweeper and changeup. This may be true for other games but not for today. He looked good and retired easily two of their top hitters.
  20. He is actually the number four pitcher on this team. I want to set the pitching up to be successful this year and the years going forward. The best way to do that is to put Paddack in the bullpen and put one of the one youngsters in the rotation. You will get the same production from the starting pitching and may actually improve the bullpen, that is where Paddack's value. This way you find out what you have in your pitching pipeline. And if you have to go down to your number 9 or 10 pitcher, you can stretch him back out and move him back. You can't just look at one game, look at what sets the organization up for success and running Paddack out there every 5 days for 5 innings does not do that. And yes the offense needs to continue the progress made against the sisters of the poor.
  21. If they are not going to trust Paddack to go a third time thru the order, he needs to go to the bullpen. I want somebody with more upside in that slot. We can not continue developing pitchers to only go 4 or 5 innings. It is not sustainable over the course of a season. And by using 5 pitchers a game, the odds are one will be off that game. And keep Duran for the 9th, he is your best reliever, keep him pitching in the 9th.
  22. And Festa's ERA in the same time frame is 1.38. So if this is the criteria you want to use Festa should have stayed in the rotation. If we are only get 4 or 5 innings out of Paddock, we would be better off moving him to the bullpen and putting Festa or Matthews in the rotation. There is more potential upside with them.
  23. If this is what we are going to get from Paddock, give the spot to Festa or Matthews. There is more potential upside.
