  1. I hope you were perfect in your job in your first six months and everything went smoothly.
  2. This is why their obsession with matchups is blinding them. Fundy comes in to face a lefty and Goodman is the third scheduled batter. Have some roles and put in your best option for that game situation regardless of what hand they throw with.
  3. Until the last couple of years, I could always see at least an outline of a plan from this team. going back to the 70's And while they don't have to share every detail, fans should be able to have an idea of what they are doing. They are not in the secrets business, without fans they have no business. And personally I am a partial season ticket holder so yes I do expect them to explain to me why should I be investing my time and money in this team.
  4. And of course you conveniently cut off the part that says he has only started 167 games and played 1,450 innings which equates to just over 161 games. I see athleticism that should equate to being able to play the position and the need for reps. As I have said not every player comes up a finished product, Koskie is one recent example, he was a butcher at third but they had patience. But this team overvalues versatility over quality at one position.
  5. You can't be serious, he has had barely a years worth of games at 2B between college, minors and major leagues and you are ready to say he can't play the position. Not every player comes up a finished product, Koskie never would have had a career with the Twins with this front office and management team. Why can Arraez turn into a passable second baseman and Luke can't.
  6. Maybe give him more than a half season to determine if he can play a position.
  7. Not sure he's made enough yet. This roster is Zoll's responsiblity and this is where I wish Tom P. would get off his butt and bring in a real baseball executive if even as a Senior Advisor similar to what the Angels just did.
  8. Exactly, we have six players who are outfielders who will probably be ready for a shot either this year or sometime next year. Even if only two work out, will they get an opportunity or will we keep moving Luke around. At least move him to a position of need.
  9. Does this team have any kind of plan. They move Keaschall because of defense without a replacement ready to step in to start there. Swapping with Clemens is no real plan. But yet they continue to start Gray at SS, who may not be as terrible as Luke but he is not a major league SS. When is the last time you saw an obstruction call like he had. We have a replacement short term and long term for Gray, why is he even on the roster. Why is Kreidler not in there until Culpepper is healthy. And I am not a believer in Kreidler but for shot term he is our best option. The moving of Luke really feels more punitive than anything else. The Giants can get Arraez to passable defense at 2B but the Twins can't with Luke who is more athletic. And he has not been the only culprit in playing bad defense. Maybe stop playing spin the wheel with the defensive positions and work with guys and give them a chance. There have been plenty of examples of players who get better at defense. Keaschall has had barely a year's worth of games at 2B over his college, minor and major league career.
  10. Why do we keep pulling Buxton into these trade conversations. Most people are just projecting what they would do in his position. He has made it clear that he wants to stay. I don't understand the what we could get for him, why even discuss it. He can always change his mind but my guess is we wouldn't know it until a trade is completed.
  11. They do throw back to back days and didn't throw many pitches last night. So keep the expectations reasonable.
  12. No if we are going to trade, I want major league ready players, not a hope that they turn into something type. We have enough of those that we need to start figuring out what we have.
  13. We don't play the prospects we have now, what specific needs do you see, We have a glut of outfield candidates, supposedly a couple of catchers ready in the next two years. And our development of prospects is suspect at best. So before bringing more in to the organization it would be nice to see a plan..
  14. Caratini has had two years catching over 90 games, topping out at 101. And these two years were two of his worst OPS. I am not sure how you came to the conclusion he can handle a larger workload when he hasn't before in his career and will be 33 next year. I realize we may be stuck with him if we don't retain Jeffers, but to consider him a full time or even 3/4 is another part of the failed legacy left behind by Falvey.
  15. You can still have designated roles, it doesn't mean that mean all three get used every day. This is how you end up with an Orze or some other waiver wire pickup trying to close games. Baseball has had that for a 100 years, it is nothing new.
  16. I am old enough to remember when people on here thought Orze should be our closer, where are they now. They really need to define roles, Shelty said the other night, no one has stepped up. Start with Gomez, Morris and Banda in innings 7 thru 9. You can switch up later if it doesn't work, but the constant trying to win match ups is only going to work part of the time. Go with the best of what is available and it is up to the Z man to get better talent if it is not good enough.
  17. It is the outfielder's ball, always has been. Can we say we hate Luke without saying it.
  18. It's the outfielder's ball, and he called Clemens off.
  19. Please explain how they will trade him in 2028, the situation will be no different than it is today.
  20. Buxton isn't going anywhere, it is not up to the Twins, and they just said they are honoring his wishes to stay. Trade Larnach for whatever you can get, it won't be much more than a low minor prospect. Bell you can DFA, and hopefully because I doubt there will be a market for him.
  21. What signing or trade did the Pohlad's say no to. Did Ryan bring them something and they said no way. Ryan worked with the resources given and knew the environment he was operating and acted accordingly unlike Falvey.
