    He didn't do a rehab assignment, is still getting his timing back. Have seen some better swings the last few games. Hopefully he can find it sooner than later.

    ERod trying his best to get Zoll's attention, just hit his 3rd home run in the last 3 games. Not sure if the rust is knocked off, but he is trying to make his case.

    Culpepper has shown that you can call up young players and while they may make mistakes, they can make positive contributions. Clemens needs to be the super utility guy and not an everyday player getting 350 to 400 AB's.

    We have to take better swings if we are going to keep trying to ambush the pitcher on the first pitch.

    Depends if that is a better version of AAAA, if so I would disagree.

    His approach has changed at the plate to one he is comfortable with which it makes easier to make adjustments. He has done a better job overall of laying off the outside pitches which is why he is getting more pitches in the zone to hit. Probably still needs to continue to improve this but has definitely done better. He had a 7 to 10 stretch after the break that he struggled and worked his way out of, so he has shown can make adjustments. Sometimes you have to watch the game and get your eyes off the spreadsheet, there is value to that. He has made improvements and in my mind needs to be the first baseman going into next season.

    Yes his career batting avg of .218 and OPS of .608 have nothing to do with it.

    Gray is the stereotypical AAAA player and should never see another day in a Twins uniform.

    Bell is basically at all his career averages in most statistical categories, I would argue he is performing as expected.

    Lewis has hit over .275 and has an OPS over .800 for the last two and a half months since returning from St. Paul. And you say he's getting away with poor plate coverage, at least be honest in your evaluation of Lewis if you don't like him. He is on a sustained run that has been one of the key factors in keeping us in contention.

    We are his fourth team this year, he actually pitched in 47 games for SD but looks like most likely a multi inning reliever.

    I hope you are correct but I believe the key is who is in the front office. This current office likes to establish players for each position based on what side of the plate they hit from. They have typically not had 4 starting caliber outfielders and make the lineups accordingly so everyone gets at bats. I know it can be done but I am not sure this front office will do it if Bell is here.

    I don't think he makes that diving catch last night if he is injured. He needs to shake the rust off and do it very quickly.

    If the current management is still in place, which I hope they aren't, he wouldn't be a security blanket. He would be holding back either ERod or Jenkins. If either Bell or Larnach are on the roster next year, one of those two will not be. And we will have another lost year of development and finding out what they can do. The current front office loves these one year league average at best vets. And it did hurt this year, if Bell is not here, ERod probably makes the team out of spring training and we would know now where he fits into the future. Bell has contributed to this team but we truly don't know how many games back we would be without him. We can't keep sacrificing the opportunity to give the younger players a chance, that is why we are developing a bottleneck now.

    And now they are 3 games under .500 an improvement of only 3 games. That is the ultimate stat, wins and there is not much improvement so how is Bell leading us to the World Series.

    We have a backup catcher and a defense first utility player on the bench and two spots we refuse to use. At what point do you try and help the offense, bring someone up from St. Paul to see if they can contribute. I understand you are trying to give the players who got you here a chance to right the ship, but there needs to be a sense of urgency. And if it has to be someone on the 40 man roster, than call up Wallner or ERod. I am not calling for anyone specifically but this offense has been scuffling since the All-Star break and they need to try something to see if it can spark this offense. They looked like they were going thru the motions last night, maybe a move will give some of these guys a sense of urgency, competition isn't a bad thing. But they know they aren't going to be sat when two players won't even be used.

    Matthews has been blown up in three of his starts, the other 14 he has given up 4 runs or less and is averaging 5 2/3 innings per start. That seems pretty good for a #4 or 5 starter, especially after what Sim was giving us earlier in the year. Prielipp has gotten up blown the last two starts after probably being left in too long and had two other bad starts in May. Otherwise he has consistently been pitching into the 5th and 6th inning giving up 2 to 4 runs a game keeping his team in the game. I am not sure what more you want. If Able and Rojas can come into spring training and beat them out, then they should be in the starting rotation. But what do these two have to do to become part of the rotation, they have earned their shot next year until you bring somebody in that is clearly better or they are beat out. Abel has had two good starts, we have no idea what he can do. Rojas has looked better in St. Paul but has had troubles throwing strikes up here. Those two need to prove themselves before I hand them a spot when you have other options.

    Bell has had his moments, but he has mostly been league average. He had a good June, and has been hot the last three weeks. April and May he was not good. He has 10 more RBI's than Lee hitting in the middle of the order while Lee has been hitting mostly in the bottom of the order. So how much of his RBI production is from his spot in the lineup and should we expect more. I have no interest in keeping him for next year. Leave the DH spot as a rotating spot to give the other starters a half day. Don't keep clogging the roster with a bat only. We need to get more athletic and keeping him doesn't accomplish this. We have to commit to Jenkins and Erod. If they bomb then you regroup in 2028, but at some point you have to find out and now is the time. And I keep hearing about the clubhouse aspect, that is great but I want players that will contribute on the field. It feels like that is becoming a driving force of the roster construction especially if reports about Jackson being kept for this reason are true. There has to be a balance but ultimately they have to produce on the field.

    He was pulled because of injury. Dropped his glove after one pitch in the second inning.

    He had a stretch between May 28 and August 6 where he only threw out 1 of 27 stolen base attempts. Which stretch will it be. I don't think Caratini is a #1 or main catcher however you want to classify it. He is a good backup for 60 to 70 games. That is something that I think needs to be addressed but probably won't be.
