  1. As a result of this signing, instead of 80 to 1 odds that the Twins will win the World Series in 2026, the odds are now 81 to 1.
  2. Looing at this post, this lineup looks too similar to last year's lineup. The Twins need to add some young players like Fitzgerald, Rhoden, Jenkins, Rodriguez and Culpepper. And trade Larnach, Wallner and Julian.
  3. Can we take a moment to remember Carew, Oliva and Killebrew? All in the same line up. Wow !
  4. Best wishes to Jose Miranda. Reminds me a the old Jerry Reed song, "When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not, you're not".
  5. The Twins should hang on to their pitchers. A baseball team can't have too much good pitching, especially a team that gutted it's bullpen last season. Develop some great relievers from the existing "starters", especially those in the high minors. Find some with funky deliveries and unusual pitch movement that can throw for an inning or two.
  6. Bly, you are one of my favorite posters. I have a feeling you and I would enjoy watching a Twins game together while talking about baseball and life and enjoying some Killebrew root beers.
  7. Why has there been no mention of Royce Lewis in this article, nor in the comments so far? Has Royce been traded and I didn't know about it? Lewis is 26 until June 2026, Lee will be 25 in February 2026, Keaschall will be 24 in August 2026 and Culpepper will be 23 this month. I submit that Royce Lewis should be part of these future infield projections. As Lou Costello used to say: "Who's on first?"
  8. Bly, the 20 per cent of the $1.75 billion "valuation" which the investors bought would be $350 million total. The valuation figure is using the estimated value of the franchise at $1.75 billion. Since there were 3 investment groups buying, if each bought a third of the $350 million value (which they each may have bought different values to add up to the $350 million) then each of the 3 investment groups would have paid $116,666,667 and each of the three investment groups would then own 6.67 per cent of the franchise. 6.67 per cent x 3 = 20 percent. 20 per cent of $1.75 billion equals $350 million.
  9. Maybe Jackson can bunt and use that elite catchers' speed to get bunt base hits. Hahaha. Why didn't the Twins keep catcher Daniel Susac? He's 24 and can hit.
  10. Talk about "divas". How about those Mets?
  11. Best wishes and good luck to Carson. It will be a great adventure, living in an Asian country.
  12. I read Joey Gallo had his name changed last month in a civil process court in Ft. Myers. His name is now legally Sidd Finch.
  13. How does a team build a winning tradition by constantly trading away its best players when their trade value is highest (i.e. when they are playing their best and are affordable). Makes no sense to me. A team should want to keep players who are playing their best and are affordable. That is the way to consistent winning. Year after year, it should not be "wait til next year"! The future is now !
  14. Best wishes and good luck Rocco. Thanks for the memories.
  15. Which franchises have been steadily successful in their draft selections from season 2015 through season 2024? The Astros have had the most top 10 draftees play in the majors at 51, followed by the Dodgers with 47. The next most with 45 is the Twins. (A proviso: I submit that the worse the team's record, the more chance that young players have to be promoted to the big leagues.) The Astros also lead in fWAR from these top ten drafts over this ten year period at 110.4, followed by Cardinals, Orioles, Dodgers, Rays, D-Backs and Braves. The Twins rank 9th at 61.6. Keep in mind Falvey was with the Guardians from 2007 to November 2016 (one year) and with the Twins for 9 of these years. I submit that's not too shabby.
  16. Go Twins. Win the World Series this year. What were the preseason odds against this scenario in 1987? 100 to 1. Also the Twins had a negative 20 run differential that year. And again in 1991? The Twins and their opponents, the Braves, both went from worst the previous year, to first. The Twins were again 100 to 1 odds against winning it all and the Braves were 250 to 1. I'm not a good enough mathematician to figure the odds against the Twins meeting the Braves in the World Series in 1991.However, it's why we play the games.
  17. Minnesota was beautiful and very comfortable during my two summer visits to Minneapolis to see the Twins play baseball. However, after watching this video on snow removal systems, I am so grateful I live in North Carolina. No offense intended.
  18. Nick, It is time to put on our sanguine hats and send positive vibes to each other here on TD. I pledge to do my part. Let's get the band back together. Go Twins ! My team. Win or lose.
  19. Thanks River. I needed to read your post. I agree with you.
