    Lots of infield pop-ups +Sano at 3B = potential problems unless Sano improves his ability to catch pop-ups from what we saw last year.

    I want to agree with all you have written, however not all of the youngsters you mentioned will pan out. More importantly, I feel the Twins lack a shortstop who is a top level fielder and who can hit for average. I also feel by 2018 the Twins need one of the minor league catchers to be above average defensively, framing, throwing, blocking pitches and calling an intelligent game. He can be an average, or even a below average hitter, just so he improves the pitchers. SS, catcher and CF are the 3 critical defensive positions, in that order.

    Thanks for all the time and effort you took to write this interesting article. I think you are correct. Also, Buxton/Kepler/Rosario in the OF will significantly help the Twins' pitchers by catching more fly balls. Now about the IF...Regarding the SS's defense...the Twins need help there. 3B is a work in progress, but improving. 2B is league average and 1B is above league average. How is Gordon's defense at SS? Will he remain at SS or move to 2B?

    . On the bright side, it would now be plausible to have 4 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year winners in the bullpen by season's end - Jay, Perkins, Slegers, and Wimmers. It's always great news when three first round picks end up being bullpen arms. None of them (Jay, Slegers or Wimmers) may even play for the Twins. Awful selections for first round picks.

    Since he was drafted as a SS and is being groomed as a SS, and since I feel SS is the most important defensive position on the field, and since the Twins have a critical need for a good defensive SS, having used 10 different SS's on opening day the last 11 years, I'm more interested in Gordon's fielding than I am his hitting. How do you rank his fielding as a SS?

    Interesting that Molitor mentioned Ervin and Hector, but failed to mention Berrios, as being the potential starters who were absent due the WBC, thereby giving Mejias, and others, more looks. Maybe I'm reading something there that really means nothing. At any rate today Mejias pitched the best that any Twins' starter has pitched this spring.

    Duffy has had an opportunity or two already. Give the 5th spot to Mejia with Berrios at AAA, on an early season pitch count, all stretched out and ready to be called up, when the next injury or melt-down occurs.

    I feel so bad for Trevor May. He has worked so very hard. This is a major disappointment for him. Hopefully he can get the tear repaired and remain positive about this difficult situation. All of us at Twins Daily are pulling for you, Trevor. As former NC State basketball coach, Coach Jimmy Valvano, said: "Never give up...never, never give up." I'm not equating cancer with a torn ligament, but the attitude necessary to fight adversity is the same.

    Does this picture of Trevor May getting ready to release a pitch, look odd to anyone else? It seems he is mainly pitching with his upper body and that his leg strength has not been utilized. Almost a Bartolo Colon-like delivery.

    Sano will stay at 3B. His arm is a rocket launcher. He can field a ball hit in front of him very well. I don't think his lateral movement is all that bad. Besides, there is no one any better at 3B in the Twins system, all things considered.

    This article is cold but unfortunately is it accurate. Let's cut our losses and trade Santiago for...? Oh, I see the problem. Do we just send him to AAA? Do we just release him? Can we give him back for Nolasco, and let them keep Meyer? It is a dilemma. ?

    Zack Granite is the man for the 4th OF spot, late inning pinch runner, late inning defensive replacement, and replacement when one of the 3 starting OF rests. Heck, he and Buck are so fast, the Twins could play just the 2 of them in the OF and play the 3rd OF at shortstop, if we had 2 shortstops. But then we don't even have 1 SS.
