  1. Multi-tool players with that skill set? You must have forgot Punto, Gardy's little buddy who could do all those things. So if anything Gardy liked multi-tool players but Willingham was a good find before all the injuries happened.
  2. There is no really way to answer that unless your in his shoes. Or head so to speak. Plus its mainly Ryans job to evaluate the talent and promote the players that are capable of success.
  3. Yeah right. I'll stand on my head if it happens. But if you look at other Cuban players such as Abreu and Puig they both are worth more their contracts that they signed. No way it happens, so don't get your hopes up.
  4. Meh he's pitching this year for the Twins like it or not so its irrevelant.
  5. Used to go read there blogs all the time but the pay wall got annoying.
  6. Rosario's OBP is incorrect. I struck me as really high so I had to check.
  7. Miller sucks. I know this because I played fantasy baseball and no one would take him off my hands. I was afraid to start to him half the time. But in all seriousness, I like Arcia going forward more. Miller has outperformed his perpherials in a "weaker" league and I don't think his upside is worth giving up an outfielder and then trying to fill two holes this offseason.
  8. Billingsley would be a good pickup. He's had a run of bad luck but before he was a workhorse. Kind of reminds me of Peavy when he was injured practically every season awhile back. Morrow would be a good bullpen arm, but hes probably looking to be a starter.
  9. Kepler? I think that would be a fair exchange.
  10. A lot of players in free agency have seent their best years. If the Twins want to gamble they should look into Masterson or even Brett Anderson because they could rebound and be good players for several years. Hitter wise no one jumps out but I haven't looked to hard to be honest.
  11. I remember once upon a time we compared another Twins pitcher who had similiar numbers at the same age as Cliff Lee. The pitcher? Kevin Slowey
  12. but I feel the Twins will have a boring offseason. Nothing like last year, when they made a couple intruiging signings. Sure, the new coaching staff provides something to talk about but nothing groundbreaking seems to come from it. I sure hope I am wrong, but I just get a feeling the Twins are going to sit back on their hands.
  13. Dont forget they are paying Gardy two million for this next year. As for Maddon, not sure why you guys got your hopes up. He commands too much money and is getting up there in age, not exactly a good fit for a team that is a few years away from contending.
  14. So what happens if Houston fails to sign their picks again this next year? I'm really interested on how many picks they could compile in a future draft.
  15. Made this thread last night but forgot about it till now. Thanks for all the replies, good info!
  16. I was looking at this article and they point out the Twins have a subpar TV deal. Anyone got details on when it was signed and why practically every one else scored a better deal? No wonder Ryan isnt adding payroll this offseason. Also, am I reading this article right when it says the Rays have more fans then the Twins? I thought they were on pace with the Jackonsville Jaguars of having the poorest fan base. So what does that say about the Twins??! 17. I play in a couple leagues and have been fairly successful playing fantasy baseball. One of the keys is to not be a homer when it comes to your favorite teams players so I pretty much avoided all Twins players the last few years. Hardly any impact players comes from the Twins. I do like to stream some players like Arcia when they get hot though.
  18. Works every time. Fail proof.
  19. Lester and Shields didnt look that valuable last night. Just sayin...
  20. I'm pretty sure the Red Sox dont want to deal Betts after the season he just had. As for Marte, hes not that great imo. Bad plate discipline makes him a streaky hitter.
  21. I like Hughes, but why pay him after his best season? Didnt we do that with Joe Mauer? How's that turning out? I say wait a year. I would put money down that he wont be that stingy on walks next year and he could put up a higher ERA.
  22. Rasmus would really help the Twins chase the single season strikeout record for a team. Between him and Arcia they could cool the fans off in the heat of the summer.
  23. No thanks on Lester. The last couple years before this year he was mediocre. He's overperforming to a degree and thats going to net him a big contract.
  24. I'm sick of Burton. Anyone else?
