  1. How can Gibby be so overrated by Twins fans as a member of this rotation, yet be so underrated as a trade piece? Blows my mind, because honestly, I think the Yankees would deal for Gibby if it only meant losing Justus Sheffield. Same goes for Escobar and Pressly, because it seems that the Redsox would desperately like to have another option to set up for Kimbrel and the Phillies do have a need for a SS/3rd that won’t cost them as much as Machado would. In one for one deals the Twins could end up landing MLB ready talent like Justus Sheffield (NYY), Sixto Sanchez (PHI), and 2nd/3rd Michael Chavis (BOS).
  2. Even if it’s only for the second half, I’d love to see if someone like Ozzie, Ron Washington, or Dusty Baker could actually teach these bums how to play some fundamental baseball.
  3. If there isn’t changes made by the next home game, then the team should expect to be booed on and off the field, enough of this Minnesota nice bull!!
  4. Last night during the Yankees/Redsox game on ESPN, Gibson was mentioned as one of New York’s possible targets. You’d think Justus Sheffield would be worth 1 more year of Gibby, right?
  5. Besides controllability, I don’t see much of a difference between Toronto’s J.A Happ and Gibson. And looking at it from NY’s perspective Gibby does seem more appealing because he won’t cost both Sheffield and Clint Frazier. In terms of the market, the only better option would be to overpay even more for Cole Hamels, who likely won’t have the same impact as Verlander did last year. At least start the conversation with Gibby for Sheffield, and maybe Drury, and see where it goes.
  6. Does anyone think trading Gibby to the Yankees would be worth it if it meant getting back either Brandon Drury, Justus Sheffield, or Dillion Tate?
  7. Obviously not all 3 of them, but maybe Gibby and Reed would be enough to land Jahmai Jones
  8. Depending on whether they think they can catch the Mariners in the WC race, I see the Angels as a good match for the Twins. They don’t really have a 1st baseman in Pujols, Zack Cozart is out for the year, and all their pitchers are getting hurt. We could send any one of Mauer, Dozier, Reed, Pressly, Rodney, Gibson, and Lynn and get a decent return. Names to me that stand out are Kevin Maitan, Jahmai Jones, and Torii Jr.
  9. If we’re sellers with an eye on 2019, then maybe we should acquire controllable players in Brandon Drury and Blake Swihart.
  10. Once we trash Morrison, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kennys Vargas get the audition he should’ve gotten years ago.
  11. At this point, I don’t care about how much value we can get out of these bums in a trade. And neither should Falvine, or they’ll be gone too. What’s important is that Gonsalves, Gordon, Wade, Rooker, Kirilloff, Lewis, and our AAA bullpen get playing time at some point in the 2nd half.
  12. For the Twins organization as a whole, changes need to be made. Now. Enough excuses, just admit it, this is a team of losers. Where’s the accountability and the expectation to at least be competitive.
  13. I’m so done with this team. Begin the fire sale, with 2019 in mind.
  14. The only veterans we should be, at the very least, thinking about holding onto are Escobar, Lynn, and Pressly based only on my expectation that they’re more likely to make positive contributions in 2019 then the others. That being said, depending on the return, all 3 could be dealt and life would move on. Although I’m not sure how I’d cope with an Escobar trade.
  15. He definitely can pick it at 3rd, SS too I guess, but by just watching him play you can see that he’s just a change in stance, approach, or mechanics away from being a valuable player. I like WAR, but it shouldn’t be the only way to evaluate talent/skill/potential. Besides, I have no faith in Sano, let alone this org, sooo we might as well try something/someone new.
  16. Obviously Machado isn’t an option, but how about Gio Urshela? Toronto just dfa’d him, and I think he’d definitely be an upgrade over Motter just based on his defense and the possibility that he starts hitting.
  17. If we’re not using him then we might as well trade him (opening a spot for Luke Bard) cuz I think other teams view him a little more than just a mop up guy. Might as well trade Zach Duke too so Adalberto Mejia/Gabriel Moya can audition for 2019.
  18. If the Twins pull off the sweep today you’d think the FO would reward the team with a trade, right?
  19. Just like Escobar, maybe we should think about holding on to Lynn beyond 2018. Because if healthy, the trio of Berrios, Santana, and Lynn all could have seasons of +200 innings pitched.
  20. If the National’s Juan Soto can do it why can’t Rooker/Lewis do it, we can always send them back to the minors once Polanco comes back. We did the same thing with Polanco, and it’s not like we’re hitting anyways so I think we can afford to take a chance, especially if they can be the spark plug this team needs.
  21. Ya know the Twins have this thing called the DH sooo Im pretty sure Realmuto wouldn’t be limited to playing only 115 games.
  22. Realmuto would be ideal for me, but at this point the FO is playing with fire by not doing anything (other than signing Cameron Rupp). This lack of urgency is only allowing Cleveland to distance themselves from us, this team needs reinforcements.
  23. The Diamondbacks are scuffling and dealing with lots of injuries, but at least they had the sense of urgency to make a trade for Jon Jay. Unlike the Twins. As much as I’d like to complain about Sano and Molitor, I’m much more concerned about the organization’s choice not to win.
  24. If not Realmuto, or Ramos, I don’t think Russel Martin would be all that bad, and he’d be fairly cheap too, in terms of prospect(s).
