  1. A decent amount teams are going to go after the troubled but talented Colby Rasmus(28 yrs old) and he could cost more than we think so it might not be worth it, especially if he is most likely not apart of our future. But if we can't get him or decide not to we should go after Chris B Young(31 yrs old) or go after veteran platoon player Chris Denorfia(34 yrs old) Chris Young is actually a super realistic Free Agent for our Twins to sign , and could be a good fit. He is not that old yet (still a good athlete), fast, a (very) good defender, Ok patience at the plate, and has had pop in his bat since his debut. His defense is well needed in center or left and his bat ain't bad either his only issue is actually getting hits consistently (career avg is .230 something) but his short time with the yanks at the end of the season showed some promise. He's not our future but right now we need his DEFENSE and bat at low cost for high reward. Or Go sign free agent Chris Denorfia yeah he's a veteran but he's not our future but he would help this club in few areas like -veteran leadership (heart and hustle award for Padres) -good defense (Wilson award for Padres) -would be a great platoon player, hits Lefties good (platooned with Hicks in left) -isn't a liability hitting wise (look at stats with Padres) just a solid veteran player in everyway
  2. Who thinks Daniel Ortiz should be looked at? I mean he actually plays all outfield positions played good amount of LF last year in AA and AAA. He hit very well in AA after struggling a little bit the year earlier, he then was promoted to AAA, struggled a little bit but held his own. If you don't know who he is, you should, look him up and his stats. Also just because he isn't even on the Twins Top Prospect list (at least I don't think so?)doesn't mean he shouldn't be looked cause he's got some tools. Ortiz -strong arm -some speed 7 SB -decent power 12 HR -needs to be more patient at the plate .303 OBP -young (24 yrs old) -good bat .285 AVG
  3. The Pirates have two players that could be traded for Brian Duensing (just one would probably be dealt for Duensing) like Jose Tabata and Tony Sanchez. Tabata is definitely starter material and is very underrated in the pirates organization (only seen as a 4th outfielder) also he is only 26. Tony Sanchez is also a good player to have especially next year because we might not have Suzuki and will be left with only option starter and defensively troubled Pinto. Sanchez is also 26 and has fared well in the majors in his short stint with the Pirates at the beginning of the season. One of them could help the Twins this year, next year, and years to come.
  4. The Twins should try to acquire Jose Tabata because he could be a very good player (look at his stats) and the Pirates definitely have outfiled depth at the major and minors (Josh Harrison, Travis Snider, and Gregory Polanco), and they could use a solid starter like Kyle Gibson and the Twins then could call up on May, Meyer, or Darnell for our rotation, and honestly this is the perfect time to trade Gibson for some talent.
  5. This probably off topic but who thinks we should trade Kyle Gibson (decent pitcher) and Eduardo Nunez (good bench bat) to the Rockies for one of their center fielders Brandon Barnes or semi veteran Drew Stubbs both are of to a great start and because the Rockies outfielder are almost all hitting over .300 and one of those two could platoon with the young Aaron Hicks besides the Rockies always needs pitchers and a bat couldn't hurt them (Coors Field) and it seems right to cash out on Gibson to bring up one of May, Meyer, or Darnell.
  6. Who thinks that we should still be acquiring more starter pitchers for the 5th rotation spot from the free agent market/trades, because the cardinals have 8 good young starters they could let maybe one come over to Minnesota for a few decent twins or try to sign Barry Zito (even though he might not be playing in 2014, he's healthy) he could provide some very useful knowledge and experience to a so-so pitching staff. To me I'd like to see the twins trade some of our prospects not buxton or Sano but maybe a Danny Santana could bring over a good pitcher instead of a 5th starter. What do you guys think?
  7. I think it's Michael Young because the Twins need someone to challenge Plouffe for the starting job at 3rd, they need veteran leadership, and also Michael is still a solid player. I don't understand why some people are saying he should sign as a utility player, I hope we sign him, we could be missing out on a very good player.
  8. Trade Albers with a reliever, Duensing or Burton. because Albers was somewhat of a decent starting pitcher and could build on that, maybe not, that's why you'd add a reliever. In return you'd probably get an AAA minor leaguer who's a decent SS or SP.
  9. Who thinks pursuing Indians SS Mike Aviles is a good idea because to me Aviles is definitely a huge upgrade over Florimon. He also plays 2nd, 3rd, and some outfield a utility player or super utility a little bit like Ben Zobrist. But what would it take to get him to come to Minnesota?
  10. Honestly, I think Florimon would be a perfect utility infielder, give Bartlett a chance.
  11. My Hopeful prediction 2014 roster C- Jose Molina/Josmil Pinto 1B- Mauer 2B- Dozier SS- Jason Barlett, Debinson Romero, or Florimon:( 3rd- Trevor Plouffe possibly Sano? UT- Doug Bernier, Eduardo Escobar CF- Alex Presley/Darin Mastroianni and then Aaron Hicks later in the year RF- Oswaldo Arcia LF- Josh Willingham UT- Alex Presley and Darin Mastroianni Rotation 1-Bronson Arroyo 2-Phil Hughes or Scott Kazmir 3-Kevin Correia 4-Samuel Deduno 5-Kyle Gibson/Anthony Swarzak/Vance Worley/Scott Damond/Andrew Albers later in the year maybe Alex Meyer Bullpen Caleb Thielbar Kris Johnson Long Reliever Jared Burton Brian Duensing Casey Fien Lester Oliveros Glen Perkins Closer Michael Tonkin
