    2012 blueprint

Why would the Reds want to trade Billy Hamilton?

With the Dodger's and their crazy Yankee like spending spree you could double the amounts.
  3. darin617
I'm not sure you are allowed to do this in the MLB.

    Nobody has any comments?

So with Gardenhire only under contract through 2013 (thank god for that), what will the great minds do about his future? 1. Let him manage 2013 and then decide what you want to do after that season. 2. Fire him. 3. contract extension. 4. He just walks away after this season and retires.

Mauer is only a HOF worthy if he becomes a full time catcher once again. Absolutely no chance as a 1B with no power and only a part time catcher. Batting titles won as a catcher are great but if you have watched the Twins this season he has caught only 59 games and played about 25 at 1B and DH the rest that he played.

Would you like your drug test now or later? There would almost be a better chance of Joe Mauer coming forward and saying that he is only worth $13M a season and would like to return $10M to the team to put towards a SP. Sano would have to included along with the other players along with a pitcher alot better than Laim Liam Hendriks... MN could never add another huge contract to the payroll. So the rotation would be King Felix, Diamond, and 3 flunkies? 1 pitcher no matter how great will never turn a team around by himself.

Beg to differ. I'd rather see Carson get some play at the OF with Doumit at C and Willy DH and see Mr Butera's scholarship terminated. Let's see if Carson can be part of the solution for 2013. We all know what Butera cannot do and having a 3rd catcher in this team is a luxury. So a last place team has the luxury of carrying a 3rd catcher? I will not waste my time looking but I know someone here will for everyone, how many playoff potential teams are carrying 3 catchers all season? Also, are there any other teams that have so many players like Span that should have been DL'ed wasting a spot on the bench along side a 3rd catcher? Time to blow up this entire front office and coaches and start fresh...

These have to be the dumbest subjects ever! You could say that if only we drafted this certain player look how great we would be now. The Twins had a serious need for pitching and drafted a great player, hopefully if everything goes as planned he will be a major leaguer next season. I can't wait to see the next thread about a player drafted in the 8th round of the 2011 draft turning into a superstar and how if only the Twins would have not passed on him multiple times we would be set at that certain position. SO LAME.

I would figure they would wait until June or whenever he would not gain Super 2 status before being recalled. Whatever reject/rejects they sign to fill out the rotation would be cut to make room.
  11. darin617
If the Twins drafted Trout he would have just been "possibly" promoted to AA by this time. With the hope to be ready by early June 2014 for the majors.
  12. darin617
If not traded, Blackie will be pitching in the NL next season.
  13. darin617
The real question that has not been asked yet is can he learn to pitch to contact instead of striking out most of the hitters? I can't wait to see him make his MLB debut in 4 more seasons. You would hate to see the Twins rush a pitcher... So sad but probably true.
  14. darin617
Can anyone think of a realistic trade for Blackburn involving another player with a bad contract? I would rather see something in return instead if just releasing either during or after spring training.
  15. darin617
Bullpen or AAA? It should be more like bullpen or DFA.
  16. darin617
Too bad he cannot just foul off pitches to get one he likes. Kind of like other great batting champs Tony Gwynn and Wade Boggs used to do. Heck he could learn a little something from AJ about extending AB's and not being a coward and taking walk to put the pressure on Willingham and Morneau to drive in the runs. In other words if you want to not swing the bat become the leadoff hitter or #2 hitter and leave the 3 hole to someone who wants to swing the bat.
  17. darin617
At least we know he won't need a cutoff man to turn a double play from 2B... Then we would not have to hear any more noodle arm comments again.
  18. darin617
I would loved to be "enslaved" and PAID for playing a game that everyone loves. Yes, players are treated as property by the owners and they can do whatever they want to you except not paying you for not doing anything wrong.
  19. darin617
Maybe it's time to quit babying these prospects and see if they can handle the next levels of baseball.
  20. darin617
Can any team be successful for more than a season or 2 when you have so much money wrapped up into 1 player? You could if that player put up Barry Bonds on juice numbers then it is fine...
  21. darin617
So does that mean Terry Ryan and Gardy have a little responsibility for this nightmare of a rotation? The one person who is actually most to blame would have to be our All Star catcher taking up almost 20% of the payroll. Just wait when the payroll drops to $100M or lower and one "hitter" is almost 25% of payroll and then you can really see how poor a rotation we will have then..........
  22. darin617
Top 50 lists of Twins Prospects? Just had to comment on that.
  23. darin617
Don't worry, if he doesn't he will soon learn the Twins way to pitch..
  24. darin617
Must be talking about Gardy... Finally somebody gets it.
  25. darin617
Is there any way they can just turn him into the highest paid bathroom attendant? They could also rent him out as mop up guy in XXX peep show rooms... Hey, now that would be a great way if only you could do it since he has a contract, too bad its only to "play" baseball.
