  1. So it should seem that the Twins should now take Mark Appel.
  2. I would hate to see him go #6 overall and see if the Cubs could see if they could destroy a 3rd power pitcher like they did with Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.
  3. The question I have about Byron Buxton is, does he have a stronger arm than Ben Revere? hahahahhaha Also, to slam on little Ben one more time was he know as a 3 tool player when he was drafted?
  4. If the Twins do use the #2 pick for HS OF Byron Buxton will he beat Aaron Hicks to the majors?
  5. I would like that. The only problem would be how the Twins would make him pitch to contact and quit trying to blow hitters away with gas.
  6. OMG that was hilarious! The Twins acquiring a pitcher via trade or FA. You just gotta love a rotation made up of all #4 or 5 starters or even worse AAAA.
  7. This is according to Jim Bowden of ESPN. I hope this means the Twins decide to draft Kevin Gausman, RHP from Louisiana State. I hope they decide to pass on Byron Buxton, who is being compared to Matt Kemp and BJ and Justin Upton. I woould hate to see another HS OF taken since Aaron Hicks has still not shown much upside. Bottom line is they need pitching help that would be on the fast track and Kevin Gausman might be better than Appel.
  8. The deal was made because Gardy didn't like and didn't know how to handle/control Garza. Nothing like it's my my or the highway if you don't bow down and kiss Gardy's butt. Oh I forgot this was all Bill Smith's fault, nothing to do with Gardy playing favorites once again.
  9. I guess if this was 2013 then this would be brought up every other day. Just think what Carlos Beltran cost the Giants for a rental for a few months last season. Zach Wheeler the 6th pick overall 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft.
  10. Don't you mean Mauer is untradeable with the years left and the amount of $/yr for a "catcher" who has not played catcher for half of the games he has played so far this season. Mauer's contract reflects an MVP contract not a guy who will hit for average with no power. If you really want to think about what separates Golden Joe and Doug Mientkiewicz? 40-50 points on the batting average and the power numbers probably equal....
  11. What do you think Josh Willingham would be worth to a contender? 2 more years under contract for $7 million a year is pretty cheap and under control for 2 more years. I would love to keep him but I don't see the Twins willing to contend any time soon. At least you could possibly get a good young arm to rebuild the rotation around for him.
  12. Of course he is back...Let's just hope a couple of NL teams are foolish enough to think that either he is back or they are smarter than the Twins coaches(Which probably doesn't take much to be) and pull off a deal and get some value for him.
  13. Why do they need to move in the fences? Teams like Toronto and NYY don't seem to have a problem hitting HRs at Target Field. The only thing that could help if you added some more players like Josh Willingham who can actually clear the walls at Target Field.
  14. I didn't see Mauer on your list, did you forget to include him?
  15. 11. Miguel Sano, 3B, Minnesota Twins (age 19) Current level: Low Class A (Beloit) Preseason ranking: 28 He's cooled off since the scorching early start, and striking out a lot more than you'd like, but he has enormous raw power (.551 slugging this year) and enough ability to hit to see him as a middle-of-the-order bat down the road with a .260-.280 average but 30-40 jacks.
  16. Yeah, don't forget about what his trade brought back to MN. If only we could trade Mauer and get half the talent in return and get out of that horrible contract. Fire Terry Ryan and Gardy and bring back AJ!!!
  17. I love AJ he was a great catcher. What makes me laugh when the Sox come here that people boo him and I asked them why and they don't know or have a lame answer. He drove pitchers nuts fouling off so many pitches, something you have not seen a Twins hitter do since he left. Who cares if he was an A-hole he was a great player and I would love to see him as a Twin again.
  18. Prolong his career? Let's just let him finish this 8 yr deal and then he can play 3-5 more yrs for veterans minimum to make up for screwing the organization with that obscene contract that he would have never got form anyone else. I would highly doubt NYY would have matched th 8yrs, maybe per season but not 8 yrs for a catcher.
  19. Why not? Until he can quit chasing bad pitches and play a better all round game it would best serve him to stay so he actually realizes there are no handouts here. If you look at his career stats he is really nothing special.
  20. You really expect to see Danny boy again this season? If not for no better options I would doubt he would be back by All Star break.
  21. Have you seen him hit lately? Looks like Mauer might be getting Wally Pipped.
  22. What was Mauer's previous experience with 1st base? Such a gifted athlete should be able to make the transition in a few weeks at most.
  23. Any chance that Mauer could slide over a play some 3B if Justin Morneau can stay healthy?
  24. So when do Mauer's prime years start?
  25. I would like to see Tim Hudson if Atlanta doesn't pick up his option for next year. Sad thing is the Twins would have more interest in a former teammate of Hudson's... That would Barry Zito. I can already see Terry Ryan throwing a multi-year deal at him instead.
