  1. Are we talking about Nick Blackburn, or Jeff Gray, or Nishi?
  2. [h=1]Can't we just enjoy what we have?[/h]What do we have? Ownership that doesn't want to spend the money it takes to win. You cannot pay a single player $23M and have a $100M payroll. You have to either trade Mauer or add some quality arms to the rotation so they can compete. I wanted the Twins to trade for AJ Burnett, I know he would have not posted as good as numbers in the AL.
  3. So how many has he caught? Games played is not the same as games caught.
  4. I don't care who airs the broadcasts as long as it is not on 1500. It might be good if you live in the metro area but it sucked compare to WCCO on range of signal.
  5. Hopefully the Twins braintust leave Samuel Deduno alone and don't try to get him to "pitch to contact". It is nice to see some movement on the ball. The one thing that confused me about his start tonight was why our All Star catcher was absent from the game?
  6. From Prospect to Suspect in a few years.
  7. Not to be negative but you could probably count on 1 hand the amount of Twins players who have made the majors with less than 2 years in the minors and never got sent back down.
  8. So who has this right the Twins or the Sox? Chicago has alot of young arms in the majors now that would most likely would be at AA if they were lucky if the pitched for the Twins. It just makes you wonder if Chicago has better scouts than Minnesota with all the young players they have produced in the last couple of years compared to MN. Too bad we will never have any players fast tracked to help out.
  9. Francisco Liriano Vs Nick Blackburn at Target Field. Too bad Mr. Ryan could not include Blackie in the trade as well so we can be done with him.
  10. I wonder and we will never know what Liriano's value would have been if he pitched a great game against this weak Cleveland lineup? It could also backfire if he struggled. I just think now they should have let Frankie go 6 innings or so and then take their chances if this is all the trade returned. Bad move Mr Ryan and now go away and take Gardy with you.
  11. Liriano just traded to the White Sox for 2 minor leaguers. infielder Eduardo Escobar and left-hander Pedro Hernandez
  12. Oh great, now we have to put up with Danny Valencia again. Maybe he finally figured it out but I doubt it, .250 and 7 HR for Rochester is not worthy of a promotion to replace Plouffe on the roster.
  13. I would also skip his start before the deadline. They could pull him an hour or 2 before his start and pull a little lie saying they are close to a deal with unnamed team and when he is not traded they could just say they backed out of deal since the acquiring team balked at the additional player added to trade.
  14. Don't say that, we can package Butera along with Frankie and get a top prospect in return.
  15. I will be very disappointed if Minnesota keep Liriano. Time to rebuild, he is the big trade chip and there is nothing stopping the Twins from signing him back in the offseason.
  16. Now if only MLB would allow the Twins to have a 10th fielder on the field to serve as the designated thrower for Ben Revere and his noodle arm.
  17. It also says the Twins at least $1 million or whatever the draft pick would sign for. That million saved could go towards a #3 starter who would become the #1 for the Twins in 2013.
  18. Are you sure about the 2 possible draft picks? I thought with the new compensation it would only be 1 pick after the 1st round. Maybe someone can solve this who has more knowledge about the process...
  19. As long as they don't get another utility IF and another middle reliever.
  20. I just hope Mr. Ryan does not pull a Bill Smith with Francisco Liriano and try to hold out for that greater deal. They should offer him an extension and if he rejects it the Twins won't look as bad if/when they deal him.
  21. This is the dumbest comment I have heard in a while. That is just a cheap team's excuse for not signing someone when they bring someone up through the system to plug a hole. The Twins are no longer a small market team and need to quit pretending so they can make the leap back to actually contending again in the future.
  22. Apparently you cannot understand the phrase "in a package" meaning players added along with Liriano for the now injured blue chip catcher Travis d'Arnaud.
  23. Why would he accept 3/24? His agent would never let that happen right now. In other words trade him before he starts to struggle.
  24. The smart move would be to deal him now with supposedly 6 teams interested in his services. There can't be a better start than his 15K start to be his final start for the Twins. You hate to think of him like a roller coaster but that is the best way to think of it he is at the top and move while the getting is still good. I would have like to seen him in a package to Toronto involving Travis d'Arnaud, but he may be done for the season.
