  1. Good to know they have it now, that's the key point. They are making progress, to me, it's hard to believe not everyone does it. In the grand scheme of the HUGH MONEY, this seems cheap to me.
  2. Well, some of us felt that way BEFORE the season, this isn't panic, this is about a different strategy.
  3. There is a thread on Pinto..... And, I agree with all of this, and as usual, it is well written!
  4. 35? That's a lot in this day and age. I'd think more in the 25-30 range. Adjust to the new world order!
  5. I love the juxtaposition of these thoughts: Don't be too hard on yourself. You're just a bad person. Winner: Friday. Mike Pelfrey is starting that game, which would seem to suggest we're most likely to see the backend of the bullpen that game.
  6. It's a tiny nit, I almost didn't post it. I look forward to it being filled up with youth, and hope Bruno proves effective with them.
  7. My biggest nit is that the clubhouse isn't "filled" with young hitters (that's a nit on the article, and indictment, imo, on the FO).
  8. I think Rosario and RP should be up this year Uh....5 sentences lost ?
  9. Great read. And yes, success is about the process.
  10. I don't agree on Hicks....he has a track record here, imo, and should be in AAA. He can't hit against RH pitching, and his fielding has been effected by that up here. If he could REALLY FIELD, I'd call him up, but that has not been the case. I'd give him time in AAA. Oddly, if he doesn't figure out how to hit, but does field, i'd call him up and platoon him, and use him as a defensive OF, but I'd make that clear to him, and have him working on fielding like crazy. He should be a very good fielder with his speed and arm. If he can't learn to hit, make sure he can field.
  11. I would play every player on the roster under 25 every day.....so I would keep putting Arcia out there, working with him on all parts of being a MLB player. Same with Gibson, just keep sending him out there.
  12. The bullpen should never have been filled with no options guys in the first place, so, 2 months ago......but you can't go back. Now is the time for action. Just move on from no upside, mediocre, old players now. Or not. The upside of not changing is that maybe after this year they will realize group think has set in, and it is time for new leadership
  13. Was on the Gordon train early. Was, and remain, happy they chose him.
  14. This cracked me up: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/whats-already-happened-in-the-al-central/al-central-playoff-odds/
  15. Why care about losing Stauffer and Boyer........this fear of losing bad players continues to baffle me.
  16. Admittedly, the Sano and Buxton injuries have had an impact on the timeline.
  17. My favorite part. ....booing is good, because it shows people still care. Which is another interesting conversation.
  18. Thanks Johm. I respect the man. He knows more about baseball than most any human. I think he is generally forthcoming. I just think in this case.....he fudged the answer. I just cannot believe anyone thought Hunter would be close to average. I also don't want to believe it, because it would make me concerned about their ability to assess talent.
  19. John, you think that smart baseball people really thought Hunter wasn't a bad defender? Or, what? I don't think Ryan is a liar....I think he lied about that thing. Those are very different things, btw. I understand not everyone agrees with me, and think that honest people never lie, but we all know that's not true. You can be a great human, and sometimes not tell the truth. I think that was the case here. Others disagree, but in no way am I saying Ryan is a bad human being. It is clear, from the likes, that some people do agree with me. Much like not believing they believed they'd be competitive last year, or play meaningful games in the fall, the year before, or any of the other things they've said about much of this team the last two years. I respect Ryan, I did not respect that answer, that action. I don't know how anyone an not see the distinction.
  20. Way too early, imo, to judge Molitor. Way too early.
  21. Yesterday was a great example of why defensive stats are more useful than earned runs allowed....how many extra outs did KC get? And, in previous games.....how many extra outs? This is why I look at defensive stats, these games this week.
  22. Demote people for whom? Most of this team, somehow, doesn't have minor league options left.....
