  1. I do agree, and have been preaching for a few years now.....but that time is past. but, add it to the long list of moves I didn't like from my favorite team.
  2. this, they were treated awfully......and could have responded better. While I can be "harsh" about a players' ability, I don't attack their personality*, work ethic, or injury stuff, or other non-performance things. They are people. *unless they bring it on themselves, by doing things that put them/others at risk.
  3. Ha, no. someone else wrote that, but I recall the "controversy". It may have been a blog, as referenced above. I only follow KLAW, Calcaterra, Sullivan, Morrus, beergraphs, D&D, and Mearls on Twitter.
  4. that was a shot at how his wife acts on twitter........I believe.
  5. You know me (well, not really, but I think we met once, and here and all, now I'm babbling.....), I would just go all in on the youth this year (I would have last year.......), so I'm good if they go May.
  6. Imo, it is Jepsen. He's the veteran "proven" player. May is the multi inning guy, according to the GM, and how he's been used by the manager. Unless he's not, which makes you wonder about how he's been used so far.
  7. I'm with Nick, I'm never going to judge a PLAYER for how he/she battles through injuries. These are human beings, with bodies, not robots. I take that back, if a player is hurt, knows it, is not productive, and doesn't tell the team? I might judge that some.....but not 100% harshly, but some.
  8. It's not clear the GM and manager are on the same page.......or maybe they are, and they just are afraid to lose guys, even guys they won't play. Or, maybe, there just hasn't been much need for the bullpen so far, and he'll get more time. We'll see over the next few weeks, I'd imagine.
  9. It just seems, to me Brock, it is not a well planned system.......they didn't have a plan for Park/Plouffe/Sano to be on the same team, but bid on Park. They jerked May around last year for that 1 spot start. They never played Sano in the OF, in the eventuality this might happen. They didn't call up Rogers last year to be a LOOGY, despite needing one, and he's not pitched out of the bullpen at all, despite most people thinking his future is as a LOOGY. They often play with a short bench, or call up legit prospects to sit around. It just doesn't look planned from where I sit.
  10. I have always been a Gordon fan, no idea why........but I'm on his bandwagon big time this year.
  11. Dang, I got that pool wrong. Not surprised at any of this. If only they had used Taylor out of the bullpen last year, they might have some idea what they have......
  12. I agree with this, but if people think culture, and leadership and other stuff matters.......changing positions and asking players to work on new pitches must matter also.
  13. There is an interesting post up there...... Santana was "good" in the OF, they moved him to SS, he struggled. Sano was awesome at DH, they moved him, SO FAR, he has struggled. Duffey was successful last year, they told him to work on a changeup, he struggled. Reminds me of the stories we used to hear about trying to make all the hitters the same......no idea if any of those were true, but it is possibly an interesting discussion point. Do they mess with success too much (that is, are the Twins a meta version of Phil Hughes)?
  14. Ryan said it was a high priority to fix, and he added Abad........so, either it wasn't a high priority to fix, or he did not fix it, unless you think adding Abad fixed it.
  15. But they chose to bid.......it didn't happen to them. If you are going to bid, you need to have a plan....a good plan, for how to use him. None of this happened to them, they made these choices. choices that led to Sano in the OF, for the first time in his entire life. they also chose not to play him EVERY opportunity possible in spring training. They also chose to never have him play the OF in the minors. You may disagree, but all this shows the lack of foresight that leads to bad business decisions IMO.
  16. Why is Arcia not pinch hitting there? Why are they bunting, down two. I am sorry, Molitor does not understand basic strategy.
  17. Seriously? More bunting? Auto correct tried to make that bungling.......
  18. 1 earned run thru 5.....I'll take that.
  19. I agree, they will regress to the mean at some point. No one's true talent is this low* *well, mine is, but I'm not a professional MLB player.....
  20. When do the Twins get a guy like Bryant, Correia, or Kang or others that come up or over and just dominate (and stay that way for more than 1/2 a year)? Why does that NEVER happen here, when it clearly happens in other organizations?
  21. They are clearly missing Hunter's leadership. not sure if serious or not.......
  22. I am no longer sorry that MLB games are only on cable.......
  23. I would imagine it is hard to hear the sound of people blowing into their hands......
