  1. Really? Dave Cameron views it that way for one.
  2. Just because something is inevitable doesn't mean people can't be unhappy about it. Now, I'd argue taking sports too seriously, and truly being unhappy, is bad for you, but I don't think we are all there.
  3. so, they should just give up after 25 starts, and not help someone build for the future? I'm not sure I understand your argument.
  4. I do agree that having a guy in the bullpen that knows he has 2 good pitches, and will use those to get strikes, is a good plan. Like Duffey maybe.
  5. That is an incredibly stupid rule, that serves no purpose.
  6. Over, I don't like much of the rest of the division at all.
  7. Ryan's point was it wasn't that bad a bullpen, because of a bunch things that were negative, w/o acknowledging that some things actually were better.....I think that is the point some people are making, right? That seems pretty obvious to me.
  8. Unless those other guys are "good" whereas May could be great.......not saying that is the case, but I think that was the point.
  9. The Twins had DH open....but they signed someone to do that. I'm not bashing it, I don't get why he didn't play any OF in the minors, if this was an idea. I am questioning it (just as I question the Cubs' action).
  10. You had me up until the last sentence......TR knows a lot more than I do for sure, and I think I have a hint or two.
  11. that's a risk I'd take right now. If it is bad for a month, I'd send him down. I'm more of a "call them up too soon" guy, than a "wait until you've already lost a year of peak production" guy.
  12. It does seem odd, to me, that Duffey is the likely next starter up, and May is in the bullpen. I truly don't understand it.
  13. I don't think "uneven" means what you think it means. He was bad, right?
  14. They are worried about Santana's positional experience, but putting Sano in RF? that seems a bit inconsistent to me.
  15. I am not sure what that has to do with Nolasco's performance, but yes, I think so.
  16. i'd rather have a better RHP, than a guy just because he's a lefty. I don't think the Mets are worried that too many of their starters are righties......
  17. He thinks Hicks will play pretty much full time, since most of the Yankee OF are old, often injured (thanks for making me look bad, Ellsbury), etc.
  18. For all the Hicks' lovers.....KLAW has him as one of his breakout players this year.....
  19. He's been in the system a long time, if he was a tweak away, wouldn't it have happened by now? and, if that is what he is, why does it matter if they lose him? With all the bullpen arms they have, I don't get why anyone would be worried about losing a guy that MIGHT be a gap filler type.
  20. So, Rogers is still not an option to be the LOOGY? He's a AAAA player as a starter, imo, I don't get this. Does it really matter if they lose Tonkin, given how awesome the RP in AA and AAA are? This concern that you might lose a fringe player has cost the team in the past.
  21. Way Under. Not close. Under, under, under. Hmmmmm.....well, maybe not. I've gone under for the As and the Angels already...... ....nope, under, still under.
  22. I'd go with this, with the OBP closer to 305 or so.
  23. Pinch running for a guy is much different than pinch hitting for a guy. Pinch running for a guy on first with two outs? Insanity.
